你呢個比較有啲問題，香港國際學校，同英國私校，性質完全唔一樣

樓主自己講有財政考慮和退休要慳d, 唔係我估佢有多少呀，你睇清楚一點。

樓主，如果你計過條數是支持到，就讓孩子讀independent school啦！我非常支持家長給孩子適合的教育。

有本地中產借錢賣樓套現都要送子女入私校，疫情下更甚。

Year 9 一定比year 7 難，如果你target top school year 9, 都仲有時間預備。其實有啲top school 3年前已經可以申請，你可以而家開始留意報考，你會知道大約難唔難

多謝指教，20至30萬一年學費讀independent day school由Y9讀到master嘅budget係可負擔，當然考到入好grammar school都會考慮，但睇宜家環境，似乎重難過考入中上排名private school

水平高嘅官校 (Grammar/Comp)
Y7 已收足 插班基本上要 Waiting
Grammar/Comp 鬥分鬥近
同級私校相對較多 應無咁難考入

官校 中學主要收生係 Y7
私校 Y9 較官校多位易入

英國學校主要收生年係Y7, Y9同Y12。一般呢啲年份比較多位。

Actually best to enter in Y7 for girls and Y9 for boys for private school.The intake is much bigger. eg Y9 for girl schools who have a Y7 intake, is probably about 10-20% that of Y7.

Plus it is much easier and have fewer tests.

Thanks for sharing.
If my kid want to study in UK from year 9 onwards, is it easier to apply as a boarding student or as a day student in private schools? Or the chances are similar?

Depends on which school.- Some schools are basically boarding schools with day students. Probably easier to get a boarding place.
- Some schools are basically day schools with a few boarding places. Probably easier as a day student.
- Some schools are just day
- Some schools are just boarding
- Some schools, (in particular girls schools) have Y7, which means intake at Y9 is less.
- Some schools have NO Y7/8, which means they start at Y9 and chances are even.

For top day schools outside London, it is not that difficult to get into
