To be honest, if your child gets medical degree from aboard, you have to plan yr child to stay and work aboard in long term to continue his profession. Dont expect yr child to come back to hong kong. It is because the licenciate  examination in hong kong for all outsiders who want to work in hk is extremely diff and the passing rate is extraordinary low. If really want to come back US students are most diff, because the medical learning in US is totally diff from hk. Uk, australia and Hong kong are similar. As such we do look palpate , auscultate and percuss, but the US sequence is totally diff.

本地醫科近年加左好多學位，依家醫管局唔夠醫生，但只要等幾年＂大班＂畢業，其實已經會填滿晒D位。據以往經驗，唔夠位後，醫管局會有壓力要先請本地畢業生，否則又會俾人鬧浪費資源。

就算有位，本地生都係佔地利。醫學生上堂、做 assistant intern 時，已經有機會 impress  心儀嘅 department, 揾定 Intern 位；Intern 時又可以乖乖巧巧勤勤力力的表現自己，揾定 resident 位。外地返嚟，少好多機會。

當然，特別超班，無信心係香港考到，或者識人嘅，另計。普普通通，唸住係香港做醫生的話，都係係香港讀好。

我上司D仔女要讀医，都特定要個女從外國回來讀医，入了cu medic, 開心死！

Congratulation.
Rumors come from the students that the number of NJ medical students to be admitted this year would be around 20% of the total number of places. It is therefore more difficult to get into the medical program this year.

Officially Professor Leung, the Dean said that HKU would not admit NJ medical students more than 25% of the available spaces.
However, unofficially, some of the professors told to the students that the quota may be limited to 20% in order to give more chance to the JUPAS applicants  -  to give more chance to the grass-rooted talents.

曾經有一位前輩講過，如果想在外國做医生又係外國公民，最好去外國讀医，因為外國不會給出太多医科位給非公民，不知道係不係？

Yes and no,

If all local students want to study MBBS, yes it's.

If you are top 1.5%, it's easy.
