東區14 綱, 請問點排位好??

I went to all the school website and their open day and took pictures of the allocation for those which do not post results on websites. I tracked the results of 2-3 years in excel. Those are not only distant data. I went a few months ago the last time to see this summer's results.

Definition of "band 1" secondary are not the same in these primary schools and I am just trying to make parents aware of that....ie. don't just believe everything they post on the website, % can be misleading if their definitions are not the same. I define that if half the classes are taught in English, then it is a band 1 school to me. Some schools have loose definitions of what band 1 is. I respect others, including you, who may think differently. To me 1/4 English class is not a band 1 secondary school, as defined in some websites.

I am not saying NPMPS is not a top rate school. It is my top choice for my child too.

I hope there are no hard feelings, I am just sharing my experience...one person's top school may be a bad choice for another kid....nothing is absolute, everything is relative...

Ok, I understand your rationale and logic.Most parents will consider a school as 'Band 1" when over 80% students are Band 1, not 25% English Classes.
Also, I have no hard feeling. I just worry about your logic may mislead other parents.

Thank you for sharing!  We are also in net 14, although my son is only studying in N1 now I am trying best to know/understand more about the primary schools in net 14 (because I lived and studied in Kowloon side when I was young so I do not have much knowledge and informations about schools in HK Island)

If u are interested in Wai Lee Primary, better enrol in Methodist Church Kindergarten which is related to it and is just next door to it. Seats are not reserved for their related kindergarten, but you stand a much better chance in the 'knock door' stage. If you are a Christian,  5 more points.

But if you are worried by the time your kid is k3, Wai Lee will change to whole day school and it is even harder to get into (before pm class is sure win if you have 20 points as it is not so popular), Wukong is a good choice with no religious points and less inherited seats due to its short history. But it is very tough on drilling from p1.

Thank you for your sharing.

We are not Christian so we only have 15 points.  My son is now studying in Mingwai N1 and will probably continue his K1-K3 in the same school.  But, since we are renting an apartment only we can also consider moving to net 12 or net 16 two years later.  

There are some famous schools in net 12 and net 16, but net 14 is comparatively 平均一點?

North Point Methodist Primary School is a very good choice in terms of every criteria, except the small campus. The school plans to move or rebuild for bigger campus.

因net 14只有炮米同太古p.2起普教中,但入band 1 <40%.

net 14而入band 1 >50%都教粵語為主,如你唔介意咁可試嘉諾撒(天主教,有联系女校)/沪江/衛理/北循(舊上午校).以上4校如2nd choice唔洗旨意入倒.除左衛理下午未轉全日前可博下.

蘇小可留位做back up.

net 14眾多官津只有嘉諾撒有聯系band 1女中学,女仔入band 1 chance高.

但如你堅持男女校,北衛及北循成續好,老師又較有愛心及包容.不過你得15分,女兒會不會洗礼.如否,北循及北衛上午1st round 20分只可抽.但現時北衛下午15分就可抽.過3-4年上下午會合併就15分都冇得抽了.

如你女兒在衛理堂幼園讀,有校長推介信,叩北循及北衛是同一教會,都有优勢.此兩校校長都不要求儲很多cert及背面試答案.臨塲表現及'誠意'才重要, ie.round round 1st choice係該校先好叩佢.

北官我個人喜欢傳统教学同嚴厲的教師,因吾兒只是活潑,係貪玩又坐定.如入北官俾老師日日鬧/罰都似.北官啱乖同叻人,老師冇咁有愛心.

以上学校(除北衛下午) 2nd choice已冇機會.

其實好多人忽略了沪江,冇宗教分,歷史短少d世襲生,>70%入band 1.但好谷.15分有機入.

差五分真係差好遠~~而家會否太遲...
我囡係兩年後的, 不過而家開始了解下d小學, 因為本身唔係呢區長大, 乜都唔知>.<
我又想佢開心,又想佢唔好讀太差, 又唔想太谷(怕自己跟唔到,要返工),真係針冇兩頭利

大部份教會唔俾你即刻洗礼,要父/母先讀慕道班一年半載,有d校要孩子本身洗礼.側聞區內有些教會開方便之門会快d洗倒礼.你如有興趣可打聽下.

我自已不是信徒,不想用此法.過不了自己.

觀乎咁多間學校嘅學生
1) 北角循遁 : 程度中等, 校風好, 學生純樸有童真
2)丹拿山 : 程度中等, 著重親子
3)北角官立 : 程度中上, 但學生太串, 或者佢過份自信
4)滬江 : 唔講程度, 今非昔比, 小二小三已講粗口同黃色笑話故仔, 真係嚇死你

還有, 就有關"有各種障礙"嘅學生
北角循遁 : 會有社工跟進輔導
Canossa : 會採取逃避, 只係不停話個小朋友成績差, 唔會深入了解 (但普通話程度好好, 一般學生都可以大膽用普通話自然交談, 其他學校嘅學生都比較生硬) (另一個問題係D女生好公主, 男仔讀可能未必慣)

canossa.....唔覺佢地唔會逃避有障礙學生, 佢地有專責一名老師加一位姑娘全職去輔導, 去了解需要,

學校好注重品格培養, 希望課外活動係適量....唔贊成"勝在起跑點"

如你選冇宗教的,沪江會比北官成績好很多及有愛心d.

以上都提過北官老師嚴厲,傳统教学,小息都廣播訓令学生.

成績差之學生冇老師幫已算好彩,有些被老師侮辱及x(幾年前好大件事).我一定不選北官.
