別太受他人影響,名校效應有時令人看不到其實自己需要些什麼.

I am also considering sending my child to IS.  I like the way IS teaches which preserves creativity and encourages analytical thinking.  But I am worried about the Chinese writing and reading skills.  Are there any successful cases that an IS student can still read Chinese newspaper and write simple passages?

no matter which system, the most important thing should be decisive.  if you decided to go IS, then don't try any "hybrid" KG... if you decided to to go LS, try KG like Kentville which can provide you competitive foundation to go LS.

Hi there, I'm new in this forum.  I'm so astonished that I need to prepare that much to let kids to study in the IS, perhaps I'm not aware of what it should be.
My kid is now studying HKG mainstream kindergarten K2 and I would like to let her to study in local IS.  But I missed a lot of chances because I have missed deadline of the application for many ISs for PG1.  Or I can let her to finish K3 there and then apply for G1 this year, but I think this is not quite applicable because I read many posts in this forum and I found out that chances are much higher to study in G1 at the subject IS if the kid is to study PG1 prior, although there are some cases that are not.
Please kindly if anyone can me give some advices.  THX

After K3, it's Grade 2, not grade 1 in the IS system.

It doesn't hurt to try, but don't expect to get in easily.  Grade 2 spaces are usually taken up by children who have been on the waiting list since Gr 1 application.

I have the same feeling as 樓主too, I also want to put my son in IS coz he can learn better English and he won't be the 鴨仔under HK edu system. However, both of me and hubby are local, i know it's really hard to get a seat in IS, let's add oil together! I will apply ESF this Oct for K1 to have a try!

Hi Iseult, thanks for your advice! As I know the school visit for Cat 2 will be offered via lucky draw, besides luck, I tried to provide my son an English environment, books and DVD in English, speaking English with him and also English PG, I know these are not enough, any advice on how to boost his English to high level? He also speaks English to us but cannot pronounce well yet, he is now 21 months. How do u think What kind of kids that EFS likes?
