Don't need to worry that much how your kid perform, although I don't know the reason why they accepted my boy, I do think how the parents commuicate with their chidlren during the interview is a major point.  As far as you didn't scold your kid a big time, you have chance :)

They have a cantonese class mistress, and cantonese assist teacher.  Then half of the day with NET, then half of the day with PTH teacher (everyday).  

The reason the school has such an arrangement is giving more opportunity for the kids carry conversation is those language, besides learning from books.

They also arrange outing for the kids (no extra charge) for related topics.  And I love this part, cos the kids know the topic from what they "see", not just what they "read".

But there's drawback on extra-curricular activities (this is the only thing I don't like).  This year they start to have those "baby-brownies" program, but my kid doesn't participate, so no info on this.

What's the drawback?  The ECAs are carried out on Sats or after school?
Does CPSKG have an outdoor playground?
I really like the teaching and learning approach of Creative, but the school fees of CPS and CSS are really expensive!

Hi miumama_2007,

Is CPSKG adopted small-class teaching?  About how many pupils and teachers are in one class?  Are the teachers are NET or local?

we went to interview today. the teacher told us there's about 30 students per class. and my immediate response was '' such a big class'' but she explained that 3 teachers present during the class. therefore 1:10.

To answer all the questions:

All English teachers are NET.

Sorry, but I am really not sure about how many pupils in the class.  

Back in K1, there were only 21-22, but then pupils started transfer to CPSKG in K2 and then some of them transfer out in K3.

But they do have 3 teachers in the class all the time:  Class mistress, assistant teacher, then either NET/PTH teacher.

I don't think any kindergarten will dare to violate EDB teacher/pupil ratio :p

According to my boy, there are many times they split into small groups for various activties.

They have an outdoor playground.  They do physical exercise there.  

Any drawbacks?  Well, you really want to ask yourself first what kind of primary school you want your kid to go to.  If you want a primary school for pushing academic excellence, you should go for those St. Cat, KV, York.   You cannot measure CPSKG by number of characters the kid can write, how many numbers he/she can add, or even dictation etc.  But its about being all-round person instead.

我是K2的家長,每日都會分幾個細小組,英文廣東話輪流進行教學活動.普通話老師也是每天都來,大概半小時左右,如果你係注重2文3語既家長,這間學校好適合你

I heard about someone received reject letter as well as acceptance letter within a short period after interview. However I still have not received any response from the school. Is there anyone in my case too? I had interviewed on 7-Nov but with very poor performance so I am expecting for the "reject letter".

間學校一直都係in完兩三日內就寄信俾你,佢地既做法同SC,KV果d唔同.如果你問我有什麼唔好既地方,我會告訴你,從教育界來講,這是一間很好既學校,依家小學生係常識科畫既concept map,呢度既學生K3就會識畫. 但小學學費貴.另外,無果幾間幼稚園果名甘響,同朋友講起上黎,一般都會以為係遍佈全港果間啟思lor.但如果你同人講SC,KV,基本上人人都知道.

I agree with share123, my kid is very happy at school.  

I can say the "Show & Tell" activity is excellent.  They have many chances to do that, and they aren't afraid of public speaking at all.  

Just take my son as an example, he just participated in Speech Festival 2 days ago.  Its his first time (and also in such a small age).  Although he didn't win, he got very high score from the adjudicator.  So from objective side, you can see how successful this "Show & Tell" is.

Thanks for all mama's opinion, but would you please let me know if the kinder's english level is good or not, beause I want my kid to get into the private Pri. or DSS Pri. such as DBSPD, Thanks a lot

除了show & tell,每星期一次既poetry art就等係念詩, 果老師係特登請返黎架.我個女今年去左外面參加trinity朗誦班,表現都幾好,不過未考試,唔知成績.你個小朋友係K3吧?

我個女d spoken english非常好,可以講好多完整句子,而且也pick up左d accent,讀書讀得幾好聽,佢地d教材無甘chinese,不是學生字為主,是用thematic approach學一些簡單句型+一些vocab

還有,英文每日有一半時間都係NET教,根本不用擔心.我覺得反而數學淺d,所以我比佢去學公文式數學

thanks for your opinion.

my girl is a very small girl (dec) and get an offer. i 'll pay the reserve fee today.

i just wonder whether she can settle in all these activities as she is still very shy in front of strangers and not able to speak very well.
