請問 Friday 1B 有沒有功課做啊 ?  書包內有一本 Learning Activity Book - 'The Universe',  問了仔仔要做什麼, 他說沒有什麼要做, any idea ?  又不知道要什麼時候交回 ?

Esther, sounds like we are the 2 in 1B...which group is your kid in?  Mine is in Group 5, from the original Group 3.

Anyway, I asked again and my son said no need to buy 技巧鞋, never heard of it.

The Universe pack has a first paragraph which my son said they need to read the first 3 lines.

We have not copied the poems yet so we started only tonite and completed 2 out of 3 which my son said they need to memorize.

One page (p.4) on Maths book.

That's all so far!

My son also in 1B ( group 4 ), he said the seating of the classmates is changing from time to time as Teacher Karen mentioned to them that is to find the 'best' seating arrangement for the whole class..
For the homework, of course we could share here but I think the rational of this school is to train the kids ( not the parents ) to 'manage' themselves, so, I "tend" not to ask for every details and don't give them the impression that the responsibility is mine and I try the best to "give hand' to them.
My son say they didn't start the "Universe" yet and Teacher Karen said will be started this week.  For the re-telling and the story time, my 'strategy' is also let him take the initiative to tell me ( of course, use some skills when asking e.g. I will tell him what's happening of my work today and who I have meet that day... , then he will tell me automatically his life in school ).  For Math, he is doing upto p. 9 something, so, I think the teacher start 'teaching' already.  As he is "better" in English but it is now not easy for him to learn "Chinese" Math.. however, I find he do enjoy the learning process, so, I believe it should be alright. Additionally, he also didn't mentioned about the dancing shoes..

Reports finished...When I got more words from him, I will share with you here.

David is in Group 2 now, from the original Group 4.

I've asked David, but he said no need to do anything for the Universe and Maths book, I'll ask him again tonight.

Do you know the teacher has chosen 9 students, 4 out of 9 will attend the poem activitiy (I've no idea what it's now)

My son usually go to the library in 2nd recess, he said starting from today, the students can borrow the books from the library.

Did your child enjoy the school life ?  David said he's ok but the time is too long la.

1M was choosing candidates to participate in the Speech Festival according to my son.   Probabaly is 1B is doing the same.

I agree we should not be too nervous and this will make the kids anxious on how they're doing too.....I usually just "probe" on what I get the info from here and see if he reacts to it!  if not, then I'm ok.

I think this week is to enrol on Speech festival so the teachers will be selecting.  I do not know how they are doing it but let's see then!

So we do have 1B in Group 2, 3 and 5 right?

我個仔Matthew讀1P(第一組)，因他十分烏龍，一開始就唔見咗MY DAY BOOK，今日至第一日帶返屋企，請問P.3的Reading   Log 是不是需要自己每天借書看的，我以為是學校提供書本的。另外同步閱讀是老師在學校教了才回家讀或是在家裏我教個仔讀架，我真是一頭霧水。
我個仔仍然似個幼稚園生，問他什麼都話唔知。希望其他家長可以幫幫我。

Then do you know if we can enrol through the school for Music Festival?  I'm interested to get my son try their Grade 1 piano solo perhaps, just to make him some target to practice with!  Esther can you share your exp from last year?  Did you participate in piano?

就這兩年的經驗和大家分享下。
1.體育課 ─ 就以往的編排，同級的運動課內容或有所不同。例如：9,10月B, C班上體操、P班上田徑、M,W班上球類。到11,12月便可能是B, C班上田徑、P班上球類、M,W班上體操。
其實，其他科目亦會有類似情況，例如：英文大家的主題都是Festivals around the world。但可能在第一個星期會安排B班係Holiday Time, C班是Twelve Months Make a Year, P班是The Calendar...。
我想學校是希望孩子學習管理自己，以往有e-class，老師亦未必會把每天的功課、孩子要帶、要負責的事情上網告知家長。多和自己班的家長聯絡，多相信自己的小朋友。即使錯，他會慢慢學習成長，俾d時間佢地啦！
2.校際音樂/朗誦節，以往學校會派報告表讓有興趣的小朋友參加，由學校代報。上年，學校亦選了小部份代表學校參賽。

另外, 仔仔書包內有1張通告, 是 第59屆香港學校朗誦節朗誦比賽 (被提名學生),  學校選了他參加 '詩詞獨誦', 要家長填寫回條交回學校, 我想也是一種經驗, 填了'准許參加', 交回學校了 .
