really? shxt! i just bought a new set on Thursday.

I report here, as warrrren suggested this Euxoda set for my cheap violin long long before.

Performance is fine, warm tune. but it is not what warrrren said that it needs to tune every half hour, but after every pieces, the strings need to be re-tune, very troublesome!

And the Juarger steel strings, very high pitch output, not suitable for my cheapy, even it can last for longer time to play.

tonica, as i said before, it doesn't last for long time, all strings blur out after using two months.

And i find a cheaper set in Tomlee, something like Piranato of Pirasto, 17x per set and 1/4, 1/3 available.

any one tried before or later please gives some comments, thank!

also tried the carbon fibre bow in Tomlee, as the Coda Aspire is highly recommended in some overseas violinist's chatroom.

very light, even in weight, seems better control and reduce bouncing problem, but 1750, and full size only.

我成日都等佢特價呀...我又同(佢)訂左個琴,咁啱諗住買定套線等佢黎....又咁啱識左個通利職員呀...我買時仲平過呢個價添呀.....

eee..我女以前阿sir,都有用過tonica,佢話都ok呀,但我買時問過個通利fd,佢話dominant好好多喎..我見阿女用開,所以都費事轉...tonica有咁差咩??兩個月唔掂喎.......

1750???    我個新琴係八角弓呀,二百幾咋....我再訂多一支........ ......我好期待個新琴呀....我女本來想買個顏色琴,好在佢'縣'涯勒馬....

no 呀，響時声換，三舊水，Teller 牌，我驚 ofreo 會恥笑我隻琴，諗住黎老闆大眾化ｄ，點知俾佢攞我隻琴離做教材，話呢度點唔好，嗰度又應該點造....激死。

hi, all!

My girl is P.1 and has learned violin for nearly 2 years, she has not joined any exam before, she is  learning grade 1-2 syllabus in class of group 6-8, $100/ lesson(1 hr 15 mins).

I see an ads. on newspaper who named himself "famous violin teacher", I called and he said he came from Russian schools and has over 30 years' experience in teaching violin, the fee is so expensive: $220/ lesson (30 mins), do you think it worths?  

I promised to try a lesson tomorrow...but still hesitating whether it worths or not...ie, with the same price, do I have a better choice?  please comment!

希望多些家長可以支持mini concert. Will announce if another concert will be held.

violin teacher, $220 / 30mins is not expensive if he is good. Those teacher played in HKPO from $500 to $1XXX per hour.

可以參考他的學生的成就. 如果老師不好, 就算收到好學生(有才能)也會跑掉.

My girl took a lesson today, the teacher asked for a month's fee at once, so we have no choice but to try a month at least.

The "classroom" is his home and my daughter said it's so special and funny! It's traditional Chinese musician style.....(but my first impression, it is so old and messy!) When she left the house, she said this teacher makes her 'still have violin in the brain' and she likes the teacher very much, cos the teacher is good at communicating with her and always praise her.

I teach my son to play the piano for many times before he play the violin for the same song.  So he can memorize the song including the rhythm more easily and help him to play the violin more accurately.

If the teacher is famous and have over 30 years teaching expericence, $220 per 30 mins is really really cheap wor??? At least over HK$600 la......

As what SCheng said, good teacher teach student with good result, so you better find out what is the result of his students.

Just for your  reference, my son's very first teacher is one of the violinist (first violin) of HKPO, graduated from the University of Sydney.  He charged $500/hour.  He is very good but very demanding. It's a pity that my son couldn't stand it and changed to another teacher.

As what SCheng said, good teacher teach student with good result, so you better find out what is the result of his students.

He is quite old already, I think over 60 or 65.

He showed me the mark sheet of one of his student of age 5 only, grade 1 exam, 139 marks, but the boy is now 10+ years, that means he talking about matters a few years ago.

BTW, I find it's quite difficult to check his students' achievement wor, on the phone, he only told me he has over thousands of students and many of them are now teachers in different institutions.....I guess he is actually retired before.

And, it seems that he's not so demanding or strict, but is able to arouse my girl's interest....he introduced three books for us and cost $285, all published in taiwan.....he said HK books are not good enough...
