Hi! I'm a parent who is going to apply your school.

I have some Qs:
1. I live in TKO. Can i apply this school? Is it v difficult? I'm a Christian and my son is first born.
2. How are your son's schoolmates? As the school is in Sum shi Po, will the schoolmates's family background quite complicated?
3. Are they well-disciplined and well behaved?
4. How's the religious education?
5. Is there elite class in each level?
6. Is the 'competitive atsmosphere' among students strong?

Please help me and reply me.

1.第一輪計分,你是基督徒(有受浸證明)和首名子女,有20分,不過以往的經驗20分是有得抽的機會,但也不一定成功.  
第一輪有80個位,(大約40個是必收生,細佬),大約有500人報,減去必收的40人,460個人爭40個位,約11.5個人爭一個位.   
2.第一輪無分地區,學校名聲也不錯,很多家長慕名而來,如你住TKO都想報讀,加上20分的多是基督徒家庭,學生質素都不錯,而且中產以上都不少,至少小兒升四年級,認識同學都不少,大部分都是很有教養的小朋友,至於有沒有家庭複雜的家庭,一定有,但並不是主流!
3.男校一定有disciplined的問題,但學校近兩年增加了很多活動活潑的教學方法,分散了小朋友的精力,discipline的問題好似好了很多!
4.一般
5.Yes!今年小三開始頭70名A,B班,71-110,C,D班,最後20幾名E班(小班)
6.不是太嚴重,因是一條龍,但分班後,可以會大些!未知?

Dear parents,

I am thinking should I buy a printer for my son's homework.  Do I need to?  How much printing work will he need in P1? How much computer time will he need?

Moreover, I am confused about 聯課活動 & 課外活動.  From the web:

聯課活動:
游泳, 乒乓球, 羽毛球, 籃球, 排球,足球,手球, 中西樂器班、管弦樂團、中樂團、中國鼓隊、敲擊樂隊, 數學思維培訓班, 奧數培訓班, 聲光電磁玩藝創作坊, 動畫/漫畫創作班, 水墨畫親子班, 書法, 陶藝創作坊
Are these all in alternate Friday? ('cos I heard that 樂團及校隊訓練 is Mon-Thur after school.)
Is every child required to take 1 sport and 1 art item?
Are these free or paid?

課外活動:
P1-2普通話龍接龍　創意小手工　小圈變大圈　毛絨條製作 科學小探索　紙黏土　兒童畫　摺紙樂　健康飲食　爵士舞
Look like these are free.  Are these arranged in Saturday morning?  Are these required to take by children?

課外活動是隔週五舉行的(放學時間比一至四遲50分鐘),是由老師帶的,同學可自選並抽籤後公佈(是免費的)!
而聯課活動是星期六自由選擇參加與否,是自費的,也需家長自行接送,而放學後一至四的課後球類,游泳等活動多是校隊練習,樂團都有,如小兒星期一放學後參加絃樂隊,好似還有中樂團都是平日放學練習!(但都要家長自行接放學的)

一星期中默,一星期英默.
3.How often does it have tests and exams?
tests--上學期六次,中英數各兩次,下學期一樣,不過唔洗驚,好好玩的,要test那天,d細佬病都要返學!
exams--上,下學期各一次.
4.Is Maths taught in Chinese?
  Chinese!
5.How's the English standard?
  我唔知道其他學校如何?同什麼學校比較?but I think
  not   bad!(林校長是教英文出身,而且積極改善英文科)
6.How do the teachers train students' thinking?
  Creative teaching!還有很多不同的活動,不能一一詳述,但家庭的教育也是很重要的!
7.How many musical instruments are offered for students to learn?
9個中西樂團和合唱團,個別和小組都有.
8.What are the extra curricular activities?
參考以上的討論.

  每間學校都有,沒有一間學校是完美的!

  小兒巳升小四,所以不太清楚!

我想問絃樂隊是否有分初級和高級, 是否要經過甄選才能加入, 要有什麼最底要求, 要不要費用呢 ?

另游隊又要有什麼最底要求, 是否去學校附近個市政泳池, 冬天有冇得游 ??

絃樂隊點只分初級和高級,仲有預備組,是要經過甄選才能加入的,預備組大約學了一年便可參加的,是要收費的,因為指揮是請外面導師教的!
管樂團也是三個,管絃樂團兩個,中樂團一個,合唱團兩個!
泳隊也是要經過甄選才能加入的,不過學校會有游泳訓練班,如果在學校學,教練都會甄選學生入校隊的,夏天好似在深水步/荔枝角游,冬天會在九龍灣展貿中心的室內游泳池練習,也是要收費的!
