Dear all,
My son started to take eyeQ capsules since January this year. And just finished 6 bottles. We squeezed out the oil and mix with congee for him as he cannot swallow capsules and doesn't like to chew.
EyeQ was highly recommended by my previous neighbour whose nephew was ADHD in UK. She said this product is very common in the UK and used by medical doctors as supplement for kids with learning disabilities.
We told Dr. Trodd before about this product. He said it's ok.
My son takes only 3 capsules everyday. We found his attention was better than before when he took it for one month.
I can remember an article introduced by Dr. T also mentioned EyeQ.

Dr. Trodd has his own style and he probably thought you should follow his recommended supplements.  Besides, Cod Liver Oil is highly recommended as it contains natural Vitamins A & D.  He emphasized that high ratio of autistic kids have vitamin A deficiency, CLO is much better than fish oil to our kids.  

I've heard that DAN doctor gets commission from manufacturer such as Kirkman and Wellness.  Therefore he didin't want to answer your enquiries about Eye Q.  

I agree with Mrs Cheung that we've no choice as he's the only DAN doctor in Hong Kong.

Yes, my son is going to study in the same school as your son's.  But now waiting for Welfare Department to process papers which I find is quite slow.  Last Saturday, we paid a visit to the kindergarten and I talked to Ms. Tsui.  I hope that sooner Justin receives proper training, sooner he will catch up with others!

Thanks kawai.  I understand that doctors always have liability in what they disclose or say.  However, I intend to visit Dr. Trodd only when Justin finishes his supplements as I found that he did not pay much attention to the boy in fact.  During my last visit, Dr. Trodd even forgot to explain to me the hair lab results!

Since Dr. Trodd told me that if the kid is not on GF/CF diet, there is no use in giving him supplements, I have concerns in continuing visiting him as Justin is not on strict GF/CF diet!

Dear all

I've meet the salesman of Eye Q this morning, and  a leaflet in Chinese and a report done by Oxford were presented.  As per the salesman's advise, the research is done independently by Oxford, the product didn't sponsor the research.  Extract of report can be found in the internet <click here>.  Referring the research the children taking Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids (ie Eye Q) did show significant improvements in reading, spelling, and behavior after three months time.  I'll scan the report, the extract done by the company, the Chinese leaflet together with the price list this evening.  And can email to anybody who's interested.  As claimed by the company, their product is tested and ensure free from toxic.

"Health Expo 2005" will be held in the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre on 19th to 20th November 2005.  And the product will have a counter (C12) in this exhibition.

The Eye Q liquid is 200ml per bottle.  And 5ml of liquid is equals to 2 capsules.  Actually the salesman just give a bottle to me, I've try it this morning, the vanilla taste is not so strong and really gease.  And I can let my boy have a try before I place the order.  I can bring the liquid along to the ice-skate class on the coming Sunday, you can come over have a chat and try the liquid.

As per the Oxford research, the attention of the children did improve after taking Eye Q for 3 months.  Regarding allergy to certain type of fish, as per the salesman, the material that will cause allergy will be elimated during the production.  And there's only fish oil leave which will not cause any allergy.  And Eye Q did contain DHA but will a lower proportion, and as per the salesman, the body can transfer EPA to DHA if it's necessary but not vice versa.  Hence it will be better to take EPA than DHA.

I should be OK on 30.9.2005 (Friday).

Before my second visit to Dr. Trodd on 26.8.2005, I stopped L-Glutathione as my son is so hyper.  Dr. Trodd said this is due to the yeast problem and agreed to stop it as well.  However, he said we will go back to L-Glutathione when the yeast problem solved.   

I have asked for Carnosine, Dr. Trodd said we will have Carnosine, but not yet.  Again due to the yeast problem not yet solved.

We also have the hair test report.  And Dr. Trodd said it's good as my son does not have toxic minerals found except high in Mercury (20 times more than normal = good?).  Dr. Trodd said B-12 will help.  I guess may be I ate too many fish during pregnant and also our family likes fish very much.

Then we continue to have B-12 injection, Acidophilus powder and DMG.  Then Super Nu-thera and Diflucan are added.  During this week, I can see my son's steady improvement.  I believe this is due to the supplements and also the starting of ABA program last week.

After the visit, I read two books about biomedical treatment in order to understand more.  One is the Chinese translation of William Shaw's book.  The Chinese seems difficult to understand (complicated bio-theory ).  Then I try to read an English one, "Children with starving brains", but   still very difficult to me.  

Today will be my 3rd visit to Dr. Trodd.  He may let us have Nystatin instead of Diflucan.  At first, I want to bring along the EyeQ to him, but after reading your message, I think it's not necessary now.

Dear all

My boy just try the Eye Q liquid vanilla favour this afternoon, his command is a bit bitter.  But I've tried the liquid myself yesterday, it got the vanilla smell but just taste gease.  He did ask me if it's medicine, and he seems doesn't like it but just take it as I request.  I'll try to let my boy continue taking the liquid and see if it works.
