3. It seems that the number of students are growing as some PS-1 classes are a bit more than 30, and may I know how about the number of classes? Are they the same as last year?

很開心有機會在上年聖誕跟隨校長一同到廣州演出, 很難忘,很緊張,  咁大個女都未試過, 我也有參與開校奉獻禮, 也是一個難得的機會, 我們這所學校真是很特別, 除了孩子學習外, 家長們也有很多機會學習      , 只要願意多參與, 當中有很多得著.

小學同學逢星期六下午有西貢兒童合唱團真道支團練習；星期日有宣道會真道堂崇拜，再加上學校即將招募的家長義工，只要你能抽空，一星期七天都可在學校愉快度過…

Hi zoemaywang,

At Parent's Choir, parents are divided into different singing parts according to to their singing range.  2 parts for ladies and 2 parts for gentleman.

We sing songs together, learn breathing method, get school news from Principal Yau.  May have chance to perform in some occasion.  Quite fun.     

No entry test is required.  As long as you like singing, you are welcomed!!!

I quite like it.  Actually my daughter joins the Sai Kun Children Choir at the same time.  So, after both my daughter and Parent's Choir, we and a lot of family play at school.... ha ha, a free place ...

My wife and I agree that Logos give knowledge not only to our kid, but also us.  All depend on how much you are willing to participate.  

Have you joined the Music Theory class this Sping?  Both my wife and I attend it and learn a lot.  We look forward to the key-board class.  Will you join it?

Sorry to hear the bad news.  Hope your daughter will recover very soon and enjoy the school life.

I think you may call the school to get the home teacher's mobile or Ms. So's mobile.  Last year, Ms. So was the key contact person of Logos.  She welcomed parents to call her for urgent matter.  But I am not sure if it is the same this year.  I have not got the notice about it this year.  But I think you may call the school to double-check.

They may have more change to stand for SKCC for any performance.  

To my wife and I, we think it enhances my daughter's confidence and her self-actualization in singing.  And it is more important than anything.

Thanks for the information.

I do think we need a briefing session from the school early in the beginning of the new school year, and most preferrably before the first school day to enlighten us the new arrangement (as compared with previous years) and the reasons behind. Maybe the PA exco can also do something on it.

I also get some confusion about the arrangement for Secondary students. This year my elder daughter is in S3. They will only meet their roomteacher probably tomorrow, a newly employed teacher I guess. Last Friday, they got the booklist but no confirmation from the school whether they will order the books for the students as the previous arrangement made in last year. So, we waited and asked my daughter to check with the teachers again today. The reply was since some students had already bought the books last Saturday and Sunday,  the school cannot make special arrangement with the bookshop anymore and we need to buy the books individually by ourselves.

Tonight, I hurry to two different bookshops at two different MTR stations and can only get 10 books, with 5 books still outstanding.  
With this late moment, I wonder how can I get all the books ready by these few days.
There are certainly rooms for improvements from the school side.

We got similar delay situation for the school bus.  

Last weekend, I heard similar complaint from parents in the neighbourhood and we decided to get the route details from Mr. Ko of the School Bus Company.  We are going to review the route again and may propose a new route and discuss with parents in the same school bus.  Hopefully, all children could be benefitted

my girl is going to school today, and I have asked her to check with the teacher if she has missed anything yesterday.  I will of course re-confirm later on, but just wanna give her this job to see if she is able to handle it.

aiyh~ teeth problem is horrible, seeing the baby girl suffer is really heart breaking.  hope all your children will not have to suffer when growing new teeth~~

Dear Daisy,
Did you have a chance to browse the student list posted on the 1st Fl. ? Any comments? I still wonder why they put 35 kids in DS_1E.  Like you said, the school should have let the parents of 1E class know about the arrangement in advance.

I'm sorry to hear that you ran into another problem with books , oh no!!  Agree with you that the school should have made the parents aware in advance.
I hope you manage to get them within a day or two.

All in all, I read this forum and saw lots of comments ( most negative ) about the bus routing.. Frankly speaking, the root causes to all these are mess administration of school, poor capacity planning and never thinking ahead of the execution part.
The decision in extending the school hour by 45 minutes is so rush and without any consultation from parent or teaching staff..

Our  case is, my daughter has to get on the school bus at 7am meaning has to wake up at 6:30am and coming home by 6:00pm..it takes 12 hours a day for schooling for a 7 years old kid???

Can you imagine us, a growth-up for regular office hour says 9 - 6 is better off than the school schedule.  We talked to the school bus on the routing plan and the company also feel helpless.

The feedback from the school runner are the new school term has new FS1 classes ( I don't know how many ) , the usual time to get on the bus after school is prolonged from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.  Then the extended school hour, it takes the entire one additional hour ??

I complaint and I want parent forum like this to know some parents are really frustrated. A new school administration ( not new anymore ) can run as bad as this is an exception.  My wife talked to the Admin. in charge of the school in questioning why extend this 45 minutes, the reply is creating a home feeling for the student,,,my goodness, a school to use number of hours to breed the student ??

I wrote this comment because I saw someone here gave a very positive points in extending the school hour is a "good drug" ( I think the meaning is something good to the kid to boost their academic result ) that is totally out of question.   In this BK website, you can easily see and get to know the school hours is not as long as here of other DSS school, why Logos needs to make sure a big change ( at least I think is big ) in the curriculum design, the only reason I can figure out is 11 years school term is a wrong approach, then to add the sessions.  

The thing is round the clock for the schooling is extremely tiring for a kid.  Not from this forum, I heard parent plan to exit inlcuding me because of this decision.  

Knowing that this forum has a good connection to the principal because of the parent choir, I really urge parent here to reflect the dissatisfaction..Tks,
