In view of the latest situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Education Bureau announced on 13th February 2020 that schools would not resume classes before 16th March 2020.  In order to reduce the risk of being infected, our school decided to cancel the interview for Secondary One Discretionary Places which was originally scheduled to be held on 14th March 2020 (Sat).

教育局根據2019年新型冠狀病毒疫情的最新情況，於2020年2月13日宣佈全港學校進一步延遲復課兩星期，最早在2020年3月16日復課。為了減低學生受感染的風險，本校決定取消原定於2020年3月14日(星期六)的中一自行分配學位面試。

As the EDB announces a further deferral of class resumption due to the latest epidemic development, our SSPA interviews on 7 March and 14 March 2020 will be cancelled and the admission criteria will be amended as follows:

Original:

Academic performance: 50%
The applicant’s primary school internal academic results and his/her position in the ‘Rank Order List’ supplied by the Education Bureau.

Interview: 50%
Consideration will be given to the applicant’s ability to communicate in English. Credit will be given to awards, good conduct, extra-curricular activities and services.

New:

Academic performance: 80%
The applicant’s primary school internal academic results and his/her position in the ‘Rank Order List’ supplied by the Education Bureau.

Non-academic performance: 20%
Credit will be given to awards, good conduct, extra-curricular activities and services.

If you wish to provide us with any recently obtained certificates and/or documentary proof of academic achievements and participation in extra-curricular activities and services, please send us the scanned copy by email ([email protected]) on or before 14 March 2020 (Saturday).

Successful applicants will be notified by mail and phone on 7 April 2020 (Tuesday). Should there be any changes in residential / correspondence address and phone number, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

取消2020-2021年度中一自行分配學位面試

鑒於新型冠狀病毒肆虐，教育局宣佈全港中小學不早於3月16日復課。為減低病毒傳播風險，保障 貴子弟及本校師生的健康及安全，本校法團校董會經商議後，決定取消於3月14日舉行之中一自行分配學位面試。

本校會以公平、公正及公開的原則進行遴選。因應面試取消，本校的收生準則及比重修訂如下：

學業成績 60%
小學成績表評語及操行表現 25%
課外活動及獎項 15%

教育局已宣佈「中一自行分配學位」申請結果公佈日期將由原定3月31日（星期二）改為4月7日（星期二），屆時本校會透過郵遞及電話通知正取生。如有垂詢，請於辦公時間內致電本校校務處職員（電話2715-6333）。

In view of the latest development regarding Novel Coronavirus infections, the interview for S1 Discretionary Places originally scheduled for 21st March 2020 will be cancelled. Applicants will be
assessed in accordance with the revised selection criteria approved by the Incorporated Management Committee as follows.

Bonus points of not more than 10% of the total marks may be awarded to applicants with outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities. Supporting documents may be submitted to the General Office (open Mon – Fri 8 -12:40, 1:45-5; Sat 9-12:30) in person or by post to Carmel Secondary School (55 Chung Hau Street, Kowloon. Please ensure sufficient postage to avoid delivery problem) only, on or before March 6 (based on the post chop date), which include:

(i) Photocopies of records of extra-curricular activities or achievements;

(ii) Any other pertinent information applicants might like the School to be informed about.

Name of applicant and application reference number (2020-21-S1-XXX) must be stated clearly on information submitted.

Successful applicants will be notified by mail and phone on April 7 as required by the Education Bureau.

評分準則：

1. 申請人演示表現(短片) (10分)

        申請學生須錄製一段短片，展示自己的粵語及英語的表達和演示能力(不包括短片製作技巧)。短片內容須包括：

        (I)   以粵語作自我介紹，時限30秒內；

       (II)  自選一本英文書以英語作閱讀分享，時限1.5分鐘內。

2. 申請人其他方面表現，包括

   2.1 小五、小六成績 (20分)

   2.2 課外活動、服務及獎項 (10分)

   2.3 操行 (5分)

   2.4 申請人的直系親屬曾在／現在本校就讀 (5分)

評分的總分為50分。
