How are the price of the English books for children in comparing with those books selling in HK?  Does the shop sells variety of English books for kids aged 3 - 6?

I am not familiar with Chang Le Road.  Where is it located?

Just back from that Book Store, I can walk from my home to there. 2/F is for children books but many shelves are empty.  All are imported books.  Sell at listed price on book cover x RMB. They have their inhouse exchange rate.  I think it's better to visit them after they stock more books, not worth to go now if you're living far away.

Did I mention to you there's a Children Library in Nanjing Xi Lu? They only have Chinese books. They stock many books but quite dusty.

If you're looking for English children books for age 3-6, you better consider Ready Readers, they are available in XinHau Bookshop, my son likes them very much. RMB148/box (50 books & 3 CD).

BTW,  I am quite interested in "Ready Reader".  RMB148 /box (50 books & 3 CD), seems quite attractive to buy.  Are they printed in good quality?  Are they story books or other nature such as science books, etc.  Which XinHau Bookshop that you bought the books from?  Can you give me more information regarding this series of books?

When I go to visit those bookstores, I can only find books teaching English and seldom find English Story books.   I just think of buying from HK.........

FXPC has a long disucssion in "Good Book to Share", about ordering Chinese books. You can take a look.  I ordered the Ready Readers 清华儿童英语分级读物：机灵狗故事乐园 from dangdang.com but they don't have stock, then I found them in Xu Jia Hui Plaza.  I was there again last week but they no longer have it. You can ask FXPC and see which China websites still have them.

My son loves them very much, he can read 30 mins or more. He won't go to sleep if he hasn't finished one box=50 books.

If I can't find, any other recommandation?  I have bought Oxford Reading Tree Series (Level 1 & 2) and some Ladybird's series.  It seems that my daughter has no interest to read it..............

I've been to Shanghai Book City last Sunday, they don't have it. I think you better order from website or walk around in that area to find if they have it.

Do you read with your daugther or she reads on her own? I also have Oxford Reading Tree & Ladybird but my son likes them all.  If she has no interest, try to schedule a reading time everyday. For professional advice, search : www.parentcenter.com

My daughter seems has already developed the reading habit.  Everyday when she comes back from School.  She always ask me to read with her.  But she just picks up those books (less than 5 books) that she usually read and refuse to read other books.

The weather has been cold this week. My hunsand went to Shanghai, he informed to me only 10 degree.  He thought same as HK 23-25 degree so he didn't bring the coat.

My son is studying in Wunan Nursery, it's located in Heng Shan Road.  School is good,you can pay a visit & they arrange lots of outing for kids. e.g. pinic, sight-seeing, park etc... they will go to The Bund & Pudong tomorrow.

Other mommies,
My sister's daugthers will stay with me during summer holiday and asks me to find them some summer classes - Mandarin & voilin.  Do you know any center will run intensive Mandarin course? thanks!

BTW, I hope you enjoyed your BBQ. I was so sick since last Friday, I caught a flu and suffered from low-grade fever for 2 days.  Just feeling better today. My son has taken medicine for 2 weeks, seems all his classmates are sick. Take care of your babies. Weather is crazy.

Dear all Shanghai mommies,

My baby was born on 12th March, and we have applied all relevant travel documents for her. Then, in early May, we will be back to Shanghai! So...please count me in if you held any gathering! I am looking forwards to seeing you and hearing your sharing of baby caring!

Also, would appreciate anyone who could introduce me good ayi?! I absolutely need ayi for helping me housework when I am back to Shanghai, otherwises, I can't believe how I can handle well my baby and housework in the same time!!!!
