I don't know that not all kids received the achievement award.  I just think that the school would be generous enough to give it to all kids.  Anyway, it's an encouragement.  For those who did not receive, it doesn't mean they are not good.  I'm sure improvement will be made in the coming year.

Glad to hear that Preston enjoyed the swimming lesson.  I also plan to visit Disneyland & stay there for one night & swim.  Is there anyone planning to go for a visit ?

I also agreed that the school has really done a lot about the portfolio & this makes me like the school more.  Hope that the teachers next year will be as good.

My son will attend summer school next week.  Received the program details & seems that it's quite good.

Only 2 students received the award !?  Then I should be really proud of my son then.  Teachers did give him quite positive comments but I'm happy that he's the one that deserves the award.

My son has to take summer school in the next 2 weeks so we may visit Disneyland in the week Aug 7.  Which hotel will you be staying ?  I'd been to Hollywood & would like to visit Disneyland Hotel this time.

we were late for school today.  we arrived at about 9:15am.  i did see someone crying & i was not sure if it was your son.  yet, my son helped to soothe him.

so funny that my son ran back to his own classroom but then the teacher asked him to go to another one.  he was fine.  i think he's quite adaptive & not scared of strange people.  he even tried to talk to the foreign teacher right away.

it was also good that a few classmates of PNA also joined the class.  i hope he would have fun & learn something at the same time.

i just surfed the web & download some useful pics. for use.  maybe will also bring some souvenirs bought earlier.

i also know a parent has got offer from SC PM.  she has the same concern as you.

to me, i think the teaching method of both schools do not vary too much.  SC has so many students.  it's not surprising to know that many students of the school get into famous primary school.

my son told me different things about the activity at school.  he told me that he used the box to make luggage.  and, i guess there are about 30 kids.  i don't think they split the class as i saw all kids go to the same classroom.  good thing is that there seems to be 4 teachers.

limma, what did you observe about the summer school ?

Lydia, 協康's course seems good.  It provides a wide variety of activities.  If possible, I'd also want to have some info about the course.

what's the name of the teacher who called you ?  chinese or foreign teacher ?  i tried to ask my son the name of the teachers but he couldn't tell of course.

i'm longing to hear what he did today at school.  let's share tomorrow.

btw, have you made up your mind as to which school your son will study yet ?

There's only one class of summer course.  So, kids from age 3 & 5 can interact with each other.  Since there are so many teachers, we will not stay & observe for a long time.

Maybe you can ask the school later which primary schools will the K3 kids go to in the next academic year, though the number of kinder graduates is small.

I don't know there's kinder starting in Nov.  Which school is it ?

You said Disneyland was crowded.  From your observation, was it the reason that it's now summer holiday ?  Do you see many youngsters ?  I guess it was not your first visit.  If so, did your family still enjoy ?

so blue today, raining & cloudy. my mother-in-law said this morning if the rain was too heavy we'd better not took the kid to school.  i really didn't understand why he said so. if he goes to primary school, will she say the same thing ?

my husband suddenly suggested to visit somewhere else rather than disneyland.  he said we'd been there once.  and, we would visit japan later.  he thought we may explore some other venues.

i remember that one of you (or maybe all of you) had been to resort.  is there a place where both kids & we can enjoy our time ?

i also think it's a good idea staying at Gold Coast Hotel for one night.  i have not been there but i heard it was not bad.

i also know that Westin Macau is having a lot of activities for kids.  you may visit their website.

my husband mentioned about going to Phuket.

I was also worried that my son could not sit still for 2 hours.  My son also likes the characters of Cars a lot, especially after we bought Lightning McQueen from Macdonald's.  Gee, I now understand why kids like Macdonald's so much.

You had been to the book fair.  It was so crowded.  What kind of book did you buy ?  Was it really cheap ?  Is it worthvisiting next year ?

I do agree that it's difficult for a 3-yr old kid sitting still for 2 hrs.  I'm also struggling whether we should take him to cinema or watch Cars VCD/DVD later at home.

I do love books.  My only worry is that Book Fair might be too crowded.  Thanks for sharing the experience, Lydia.  I think I will go next year.  Btw, in which counter did you buy stuff of 'Cars' ?

I've determined to go to Phuket this weekend.  I really look forward to this trip.  My son can enjoy swimming & have fun at the beach.  I can breathe freely (without the presence of my in-laws) for a few days.

It's good that kids love school.  I also talked to the principal today & we agreed that it's important that kids love school.

For the summer school, I could see that my son enjoyed observing what the big kids played.  He sometimes grab toys to play, sometimes watching how the others play.  Interesting !

Fortunately, summer vacation only lasts for 3 weeks.  Kids can go to school again next friday.

No school today, but make-up class next Mon.  Cannot join but the closing ceremony still carry.  Kids still go to the airport tomorrow.  Better for us since we can take part in the ceremony tomorrow after they return from airport.  Phuket trip just confirmed as the flight is quite full (consider we are to go to Phuket this Sat).  Finally, we can go for a trip for the first time.  Starting to get excited.

Hi, I'm back from Phuket.  We all enjoyed the trip.

I could not quite see the effect of tsunami.  Beach & hotel seems not renovated.  Tourist area seems to be the same.  Staying in a good hotel is important because your major activities will be in the hotel, at the beach & the area around the beach.  It was good that my son enjoyed swimming & playing at the beach a lot.

It's worth visiting Phuket.  Food there is good & cheap.  A good choice for leisure holiday.  Btw, Lydia, Thai Orient offers daily direct flight to Phuket, flying to Phuket at 0810 & returning at 1650.  Our package (3 days 2 nights) costs us less than $3000 per head.  Kids only need to pay air ticket fee.

My son missed the day visiting the airport.  The school took the kids to the airport by school bus.

ellylau, I do agree with Lydia's comment.  I also visited some kinders before (most of them in Kln Tong).  Yet, when I visited LH, I already loved it at first sight.  And, my son also enjoyed school life a lot, and learnt a lot at the same time.

I thought I see both of you as I recognize the name tags of your son.  Yet, the school was too crowded.  I did not go into the classroom today.  Too many parents inside.  And, I believe my son could handle the situation.  Up to my expectation, Miss Cheng told me that he performed great in the classroom.  He is fine with new environment & strangers, I told Miss Cheng.  Miss Yvonne seems to be good as well.

I believe you were in the classroom.  Pls share what happened & what you observe.
