They are both the same in that there are no existing famous government officials who were graduates of these schools. If you wish your child to be a famous high ranking government official, you may wish to consider St Paul's Convent or Wah Yan, where two of my kids are studying. My kid who is in HKUGA PS has sights on the Ivy Leaque universities. So it all depends on what plans you have for your kid.

Well, don't get upset please. Fan is only a politician (though not a dirty one, but definitely not in government) and Yip Lau was nowhere near a famous high ranking government official (maybe infamous, I agree).

When high ranking. I mean the CE Donald Tsang of Wah Yan and the former CSA Anson Chan of St Paul's Convent. There is no doubt about the quality of these two schools, they are the breeding ground of future CEs, CSAs.

So be open about it. There is no need to quote names in order to show how good your alma mater was. What a child needs is all round education and a good school that suits your child.

Dear Vanessamom,

Don't get over-excited for being "old and experienced". I am not sure how many years of history are there for St Stephen Girls. Say, if it is 70 years old, it may be just 2 years of experience repeated 35 times. So it doesn't really matter how old it is.

So never relate old with good, unless you are talking about wine, ginger or chan pei.

I was about to quote the name of Rosanna Wong. But she is not a government official, then she probably won't count for your purpose. I agree there is no need to quote any more names, otherwise the list may take quite a while to type up.

Thanks for letting us know that Anson Chan graduated from St Paul's Convent, I always thought she graduated from Sacred Heart.

Finally, St Stephen's Girls' is not "2 years of experience repeated 35 times", but possibly almost 50 times. Is it right?

P.S.  What do CSAs stand for? Sorry for this dumb question

Anson Chan from SP   I heard that she graduated from Sacred Heart. Any SH parents help to clarify? Anyway, SP is a very good school.

陳太真係唔係我地既舊生，佢讀聖心架。
St. Paul's Convent 對我來說當然好喇...
不過St. Stephen's 真係一D都唔會比我地差，
佢地都算係band one girl's schools中既OX喇。
可能....佢地會考成績仲會好過Convent....
我好老實的，睇要睇全面的，
一、兩個高官不等於學校整體表現，
咁講有點不公平。

Hi all

Frankly speaking, there is no utopia and will always be good/bad points to talk about a school.  There will also be good/bad students to point fingers to.

Besides the school results, students, teachers and the principal, parental support for the child will also be very important in moulding him/her for the future.
