AIS vs. Anfield

如題。 兩間都收我個女K1

AIS我聽聞校風不好﹐無中文學﹐勝在一條龍
Anfield 上到小六就無啦﹐但係好多人都話呢間好

我地希望將來比阿女流學

American Int'l seem to pick up popularity again lately, but in terms of 校風, i think the best way for you is to go have a look at the end of a school day, how the kids interact upon leaving the school and see if you like the feel of things.

In terms of discipline & academics, Anfield does strike a good balance. The teachers all seem quite caring, but then again i don't have kids in either school, so parents of Anfield & AIS please give her your input.

I can foresee though for secondary IS spots it will become quite fierce a competition. You can call Anfield to ask if they are planning to start a secondary section anytime within the next few years...

Did your husband tell you what he saw? What is his view of both schools?

You really need to be more proactive in finding things out from the schools. Yes, call the admission dept, find out the questions you have in your mind. Sometimes the admission dept can be pretty helpful. How much time do you have in your decision before deadline?

Yes...it has Mandarins and Simply Chinese class

secondary school connect to ICHK but the location so far.
Anyway, Anfield good conduct and english level. i didnt worry the Secondary. let ur child to adolescence who will choice later. may be go aboard or cont in HK study

It says on the AIS website there are 3-5 Mandarin lessons per week. I heard from my neighbour's children that and they are streamed by their Chinese ability levels, and their high school students can take Mandarin all the way to AP which is Grade 12 advanced level:http://www.ais.edu.hk/FAQ

You should check out the World Teacher Day video that they have just posted on the website. The children look very well presented and international!

I would be worried of schools that do not offer secondary section as they do not have past history on open exam results and university acceptances for your reference. Also, Anfield is a catholic school...

Unlike schools that have established for at least 12 years in Hong Kong with several graduating classes, I think ICHK is too new to provide record on student success to universities.

Any school can "pay" to adopt an IB curriculum, it doesn't mean that their teachers will guarantee to produce the best results from their children or their children will "automatically" get into the best universities. Alternatively, a child studies in a British, Australian, American, even Hong Kong curriculum can go the best schools around the world. It is the quality of teaching that matters, not just how new or beautiful the campus is, certainly cannot be measured by ISO!
