請問喇沙小學是否很多功課及令家長壓力很大?

Honestly for projects, quite some parents do on behalf for the kids, especially when they're in junior grades, for the sake of getting high marks or kids are not capable to do on their own. There're project samples shown during Parents Day (once a year when teachers meet individually with parents) and you can see they are not the work of the kids, obviously.

Every time after the group projects, I come to get familiar with new parents as we will exchange cell phones, e-mails (for transmitting project contents).

Not in P1 (personal feeling only, not necessarily applicable to others).

Unlikely if the kid is cooperative. Amount of workload is reasonable at P1 level.

But if a parent looks for comfortability, I personally feel that this is not that kind of comfortable school, bearing in mind it keeps itself among the best in HK. Both parents and kids have to make much effort, though not to the level that "好辛苦,小朋友一放學就做到夜晚".

The above is just my personal feelings and thoughts only, not necessarily applicable to others.

If your son is from traditional kinder (with a lot of writing and dictation in both chinese and english), they can finish the homework within one hour.

However, it is tough for parents to help those kids from "Happy learning" kinders to adapt to the new envrionment. This process will take at least 1-2 months.

Kids need to go to sleep not later than ~9:30 as they need to wake up ~6:30am on the next day (the school start at 7:45am).

我都聽過好多有仔有女既家長話, 個女基本上唔駛點理佢, 但個仔就要貼身照顧.  所以宜家好多人都鍾意生女, 可能真係乖d又易理d

個問題係，功課多與少唔係最關鍵，而係在於你個仔有冇能力自已識睇題目，跟格式單獨完成Ｄ功課。做功課時，會唔會遊魂、發夢、玩手指。就算功課呢「飯」掂，亞少爺會唔會自已嗱起本書温每星期D中文及英文默書。

Agree. It's not the amount of homework that matters but rather the kid's capability to handle them.

My son and daughter had more or less the same amount of homework in P1. I had to baby sit my son every night for completion whereas my daughter could handle without any difficulty. She could even manage to do the revision on her own.

你個問題好抽象，每個小朋友應付的能力都不同，有的可能答多、少、普通 ... 其實要看回你小朋友的能力、讀的幼稚園、課外學了甚麼 ........
讀小學一定比讀幼稚園忙些，如果有用心勤力的父母在旁，讀的幼稚園中英 ...

我係三年級家長, 仔kinder時讀KV, 所以他上小一後對做功課問題不大, 當然CP堂可以用黎做, 但有時老師教唔晒書, 就會用黎教, 做唔到, 有時又會追課程, 可能平日教慢左, 臨近考試就幾頁EX or兩課課文既詞語一齊寫都唔奇.
小一功課壓力唔算大, 但我仔上小二就試過weekday有18樣功課既奇景出現過, weekend試過最金有24樣, 隨筆+free writing, 夠din味? 就算你係邊間kinder出既都係好死亡!
小三又好d啦! 巧課量唔算多, 但每份份量好重, 一次會做8頁數or中, 英, 數既TSA試卷各一份.
喇沙功課一定不會少, 要讀, 家長就要接受! 做功課會train到好多野架.
時間很快會過去, 回頭再想, 你會proud of being LS parents, 而且不要怕小朋友辛苦, 其實他們不知幾enjoy school life, 你幾何聽到LS仔話好憎學校! 重來'唱衰'學校既就係不能接受到LS or傳統教學方法既家長, 唔係d細路.
