US News 美国大学排名，分开undergraduate and graduate, 再有一个global ranking. Global应该focus在research更多，但undergraduate就有不同准则，Princeton就是连续很多年No. 1, 但在其他两个就没有那么高。有些public schools在undergraduate ranking比较低，但research强，所以在另外两个ranking就可以排很高。如果要去美国读书，要清楚每个ranking代表什么。

US News靠排名揾食，而一般都会被视作重要指标的，就好像我们看重QS一样。

會以中文為主，英文作輔助，這個是收海外人嘅hurdle。

所以來中國海外學生多數中文有基礎，而且傾向讀中國文化方面。

你quote 果個排名充滿水份，你嘅common sense 好過這些排名。

MIT CalTech, Stanford, Oxbridge，ICL engineering 就算唔贏清華，都平手。

请问知不知清华教engineering, 是用中文还是英文? 如果主要是中文，对于西方学生，这个难关就更加高了。
不过，我始终很难相信清华的engineering是比MIT强的。

你這個觀點角度會開始慢慢改變，因為地緣政治因素，中國學生會被逼留在國內，你的hypothesis 不再正確。以前大多數本科在國內，研究院出國，也不一定主要為咗研究水平，不少係為咗居留權及入籍。各國簽證越來越困難，只能面對現實。

中國大學吸引國際生較多是亞非拉來源，可能係國家層面交流及大量補貼，所讀學科較廣闊，因為中國的大學教育比他們自己國家先進太多。除非有合約規定，很多都想留在中國發展。

西方國家學生，會唔會喜歡中國文化相關或者中國語文相關的學科才會來華求學，基於個人興趣為主，所以數量有限。

实際情况係, 排名同行动往往係相反(negatively correlated). 个排名從Engineering 到Computer Science 到Artificial Intelligence, 前列基本上大部份都係中国同亞洲大学, 但睇返學生讀埋d 科, 中国同亞洲大學有几多西方学生, 而d西方大学, 又有机多中國同亞洲学生.
