傳統小學轉國際學校

請問有冇過來人分享下由傳統小學轉讀國際學校？我仔而家讀緊傳統學校小一，功課多，教既課程深同教得好急，冇俾小朋友消化，諗緊轉國際學校或較少功課學校。

Target ESF 或 KCIS，係咪好難插班入呢？

I am not sure about 天份but all I know is my son read a lot of English books n always watch English movie, YouTube and he doesn’t have to read the subtitles too. so I think he has a lot of vocabs in his head so he can make full used at IS now.

Yr 7 require very high standard of written skill in English but as I said before if the school can give u an offer, I am sure kid should be able to handle. Maths is slightly easier but teaching method and syllabus are totally different. Chinese can’t compare with local school but need to get use to simplify.  Not much presentation but a lot of projects to do at this stage.  Although school life is totally different as he got more subjects such as history, geography, D&T etc but my son enjoys so much!

咁你說「不是常常用英文。。。」不是正確描述。

就算係咁，英文為第二語言的孩子堆中如何講英文，也難以學會 native 用字句法。

無論如何，天份一定不少。

My friend’s kid also switched to CDNIS after P6 and their feedback is very positive so far. The kid’s English is like native I think this is the reason he had no trouble to adapt to the new life. The weakest subjects in G7 were French and Humanities (requires a very demanding research skill which doesn’t existing in local school). And computer skill, esp Mac, was also a minor issue when he first started.

11年唔常常講一種語言，三個月變 native, 一定要好有 ...

雖然之前係讀local school,但今時今曰的值資學校其實都行英普，上課全英，project presentation 亦全英，未必可以做到native但小孩子不會怕講，再加上仔係英文書蟲, 又愛睇英文movie, Netflix 我相信低子唔差。之前係學校英文成績亦是他全部科最好，但我們平時多數講廣東話，他跟朋友同學有陣時全英，不過相信也不是native. 但e家佢同同學已經無講中文了。

沒有，我仔係由esf central interview取得offer的，沒有priority 同無nomination right。

No, my son has just changed from a local school to IS this Sept and he's in Yr 5 now.   The new school requires many readings and writings every week.  The no. of homework is not much but each one requires in-depth thinking.  Unlike local school which is mainly copy and paste.  I have to assist and help my kid to finish his work as the format of questions asked and teacher's expectations are very different with local school.

真係汗顏，我兩公婆喺英文方面，冇特別做過咩催谷佢，有都只係鼓勵佢閱讀（由bb巳經開始），每星期去一次圖書館借書，中英文都有，大概由五年級開始，看電影巳開始選擇英文同英文字幕，英小英文課程會畀一大堆生活英語佢地，佢記性幾好，學過的字不用温習都記得。

口語方面佢唔係native, 但續個字讀，佢糾正我的發音又幾準。

另外，識一個朋友就兩個小朋友同一年由直資小學（愉快學習的直資）轉 Esf，一個中三轉，一個小五轉，兩個英文都係好勁，應該本身係父母由細陪養閱讀習慣而來的

你小朋友很叻啊  中學轉is都係一條出路, 我都在諗幫我兩個小朋友行呢條路, 中文和數學可以打好根基, 但很多is家長說, 到中學先轉, 英文程度好多時會追唔上, 思考模式不大相同, 以及不是native口音等

令我苦惱左好多個月, 究竟應該一開始就is, 定小四小五, or中學先轉is? 直係每人都有不同答案

知道考is中學要考寫作, 常說本地小學英文寫作與is之間相差2-3年程度
請教你, 讀英文小學期間點樣keep住小朋友的英文可以達到is入學要求?

另, 口語方面若果是講得到但口音不是native, 能過關嗎?
