Ma on Shan branch said full day is am + pm.  They can nap and join the class after they wake up

no. The full day program is not just am and pm class. It includes nap time about 1.5hour. I think it is a good practice to train them more independent.

In the interview the teacher told me that English may not be sufficient if my kid goes to local stream and should also attend full day class (international stream)

I just get the feeling that they want all students to join the full day programme.  Am plus pm session, unlike other full day programme in other school.  it is too much pressure to have a kid to attend two classes, just like some monster parents doing in local schools

To my understanding, there's no way to go straight to primary without interview.

Not really. They assess the kid through interview.

I applied for Int'l stream but the supervisor advised me that it'd be more safe to go for local can/eng or pth/end stream as she saw lots of parent changed their mind even they looked so determined for Int'l stream in the first place.

One more point is that she saw those kids from local stream could still pick up eng well to cope with interviews in intl schools.

I took the advice and stay in local stream. Looking back I think I made a correct decision for my son as he's not giving up Chinese at his early age. Plus I can still go for some local IB school - i hunt made up my mind yet but my options are wider.

thanks for sharing, very informative. my son has received pn offer for the coming yr.
is your kid studying in intl stream or local stream in k1? i was told by the teacher there that students in intl stream can be escalated directly to its primary school after k2.

15 students per class - thats sounds good.

Hi my son is in Kln tong think K1, we are here since pn

This school has its teaching vision and stick to it. As all students there are Chinese (as I observe) they truly trust that students should have solid base on their own mother language before going on to a second language. That's the reason for their emphasis of can/pth in pn, and there was net in his class too. The sch didn't force kids to talk in eng but my son understood basic eng when he was in pn n he communicated w my Filipino helper well w simple words. We always use Cantonese in the home.

My son is in half day can/eng class this year. There are ard 15 students in his class w 1 Chinese n 1 net. I saw big difference this year that he uses sentence to talk to my helper n is able to express his feelings too.

Personally I like think very much it's a loving and caring school. My son loves everyone there (staff n classmates) and he is trained to be an independent kid.

This school is less "academic" compare to others in the district. They inspire students to learn rather than only teach them "hard knowledge". They applies IB teaching mode in the kinder. If u plans to send ur kids to local primary school u may need some more effort in academic training or simply take offer from a more academic school.

If u plan to let ur kid try another Int'l kinder in K1, think may not be the best school for u now. But it's still fine if he has English exposure in some other ways.

Hope it helps.

relax, Anfield English level is good enough for K1 interview provided you speak English to your kid..... however, ESF K1 is hard to get a spot in general.
