小兒打算考Cambridge KET，有没有 preparation course 介紹？ththx

My child  took starters n pet. No other cambridge exam in between. Of coz my child has learnt the contents of the pet ecam

我仔想當年小一，考starter, 全盾，點知比人話考starter 冇用。過左兩三年冇考呢啲。為左升中呢兩年考PET, 今日剛收到result, 攞左distinct, 我地冇上堂冇做passpaper, 試左一次衰左，今年就ok 了。所以你鐘意報乜都得，唔一定受規限。妹妹今年小三，都考左PET,但未知成績，不過當玩下，唔得出年再黎過。

People in Hong Kong are getting more and more short-term orientedand examination oriented.Therefore, youcan see a lot of cram schools which run educational institutions as businessesand aim at training children to pass various types of examinations instead ofhelping children to understand the subject matter. It is sad that even BC and ESF have to followthe trend and offer many short-term cram courses.

It seems to me that British Council still offer some courseswhich are less examination oriented.
Forexample:http://www.britishcouncil.hk/en/english/courses-primary/primary According to their website, they will teach children grammarand vocabulary through topic-based activities.
I think it is a good approach.

And http://www.britishcouncil.hk/en/english/courses-secondary/junior Their website said they will work on engaging tasks such asdrama, group presentations and projects.
I think it is a good approach too.

如果你比較一下兩個考試的試卷，你可以看到他們的水平有一定的差異。
當然，這兩個考試對申請小學學位應該都也有參考作用。

How about preparation course for KET/PET? Any centers offering similar courses which can provide mid-term (not short-term eg BC/ESF) training to this exam? thanks

1. 根據劍橋英語網站
http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams-and-qualifications/cefr/cefr-exams/所提供的資料，Flyers 及 KET 基本上都是 CEFR A2 程度。
既然兩者在程度上大幅重疊，考完Flyers就無謂花錢及時間去考KET。
其實在YLE Info. for candidates and parents 內已清楚註明 'The next exams are Cambridge English: Preliminary for schools and Cambridge English: First for schools ...'

2. 基本上這兩個試的目標考生是中丶小學生，這些考試成績主要是给學校提供參考，不至於有學校承認KET而不承認Flyers的成績吧。

根據NQF，KET Passed 被NQF認可為具有Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF) 的A2級的能力，而Passed With Distinction 被認可為具有CERF的B1級的能力。
Flyers 不在NQF框架內，所以 Flyers 成績不被NQF認可。

另外Flyers考試的內容比較BB，所以對於較小孩子，Flyers比KET容易。但對於較大的孩子，這兩個考試的困難度是大約相同。

KET 只比 Flyers 難一點點，所以如果沒有撞期 Flyers 和 KET 可以一起考。
