Student mix. I choose an IS with not 70% HongKongers.
Track record. Public exam results of SJS are better than RC.

It is all explained on the ESF website.

Nomination Right is $500,000 for ESF Foundation Schools and $400,000 for ESF Private Independent Schools.

Basically you pay an initial $50,000 to buy an interview for your child, and then ...

(1) if your child fails the interview you get your $50,000 back, end of story.

(2) if your child passes and you decide not to take up their offer, you forfeit the initial $50,000, end of story.

(3) if your child passes and you take up their offer, you have to pay the outstanding $450,000 or $350,000 right away to secure the place.

(4) if your child passes and you paid the outstanding amount but end up not sending your child there because you found him a place in a better school, you forfeit all $500,000 or $400,000 paid.

He was waiting for an interview. As far as I know, SJS doesn't offer waitlist interview.

I see, did he pass the interview of Shatin Junior and was waiting for a place? Or waiting for an interview? If it is the first case then it is really bad luck to be in the top 25 of the wait list but not get a place in the end :-|

NR cannot guarantee to accept yr kid, but u have higher priority to hv am interview, if the kid failed from the interview, still cannot get-in & the $ will be refunded.

Don't wait for ESF, find other IS and take action now.

Waiting list is so long that you won't bear with it.  Better make up your Plan B.

Is your child currently studying in an ESF Kindergarten? If so the chances of being invited to an interview later in the year is higher.
