i am thinking of applying the playgroup at kingston for my boy and have a few questions concerning the school and the curriculum:

- for playgroup (below 2 year old) it is a must for a parent to accompany the kid in the lesson?
- i suppose it's not so convenient driving the kid to school as i heard there's always traffic jam in the area, so how should we go to school (we live in tst), or is there school bus which takes parent and kid to school?
- where can i find the kingston secondary school website?
- is there any religious background for kingston?
- is it too late to apply (my boy is 6 months)?

thanks a lot

Hi everyone! It's so good to see some of the Kingston parents in this forum. My child was born in Feb 2013 and I submitted the application of PG around 3 weeks afterwards. I got a call from the school around 1 month later and was told that the interview would be taking place in Dec 2013. I was so relieved to hear from some of you that the offer should be secured if we have got the chance for interview. As there's still some time from now until next Aug, I'm thinking of taking my baby to attend some other playgroups which accept 6 months+
Any suggestions?

but we still think we got the wise choice at the moment after attending the recent PG
You started already? How is it? My only concern with kingston is the secondary school, which is so far away and don't know if the exam result is good.

yes the capital levy should be a consideration as if your kid doesn't like the school and wants a change, the 72,000 will be gone.

In Kingston, after completion of K2, you can enroll their primary 1 but with another capital levy, which is $72,000 this year

Play Group - usually for students before attending PN or K1

PN or N - refer to pre-nursery, the 2-yr-old class

K1 - from 2.8 years onwards

Kingston got no K3

You could apply any time, stating in the application form the class you intend.  Mind you that PN and PG's capital levy is the same $72,000. If you enrol K1, then $36,000. They don't have K3.

Agree!  I don't plan to send him to any other classes too.  I think half day class is more than sufficient for a 2-3 years old.  Anyway hi here.  Didn't know it's you!

I see, not much of a concern for me then.  The PM class should fit my lazy boy.  Attending interested classes also a bit far from me at the moment.  So, happy with the PM offer.

According to the explanation from friends, most enrichment classes or extra curricular activities are only available in the afternoon, so if the kid is attending PM class, they can only arrange these during weekends, which rightfully should be meant for playing and family activities.  Personally I prefer AM not for this reason but the fact that my boy is a complete early bird and attending the schedule of a AM class can fit nicely into his daily routine.  However I will not give up an ideal school for this reason.

Can you advise why HK parents prefer AM? could spend PM to learn something?
