CAIS parents - Articulation from preparatory to G1

I noted the following paragrapgh in their newsletter:

Articulation
The School is committed to provision of articulation to grade one for all preparatory students who, upon completion of their preparatory year, meet existing admission requirements and have attained entry level competencies required for the next grade level. This is the same promotion policy that is presently in existence for current CAIS students.

Question; does it imply that there is examination or admission tests for preparatory students to promote to G1 and would there be elimination for those who fail since there has been increase number of preparatory class students this coming year but not too sure whether there would be an equally increase of places/seats for G1 for 2014/15.  

Any houghts?

本人小兒在此校讀g1, 我地都係考入去的, 冇宗教關係, 但可以見到師資, 不論是EA, 都好有愛心同大家既COMMITMENT大, 希望所有小朋友開心成長.  所以經己準備連細女一齊讀CAIS (如果考到既話, 因為近年D學位好緊張, 再加上ESF個邊又加學費, 所以可能多人轉過來).  GOOD LUCK TO ALL PREP K PARENTS

我們不是教徒，覺得宗教氣氛真的很濃厚。但不太抗拒，只要教育方向是正確、正向、積極人生，我們覺得沒大問題。將來女兒信奉與否，會尊重她自己意願了。
整體感覺良好，校長、老師和學生都友善有禮。

The whole parent forum, besides its information bit, shows its great emphasis on God. And this can be, i'm afraid for non Christians, a turn-off, but for me, it is quite moving.

Key Takeaway from last night's parent forum:
1. debenture:  the principle cannot disclose much more than what's on the report at the moment. they will have another parent forum at the end of April and they may have more information. the only addition is the debenture will not increase more than 250K for any current student / student and future sibling. 250k is the school commitment to current families even If the face value increases in future.

in terms of transferable, the school will help to match the families who need debenture If you decide to sell.

no solid sibling discount amount was disclosed for now.

for early bird debenture discount, you must sign up during May to be eligible for lottery. No immediate payment required.

2. traditional vs simplified Chinese character:

for new students who will start learning traditional Chinese characters, the school will judge the needs and demand on families and adjust how long they will continue teaching traditional. it all depends on critical mass of needs.

3. the new prep and Lai yiu principle is young and look nice and I like the funny principle very much! haha

There is no formal testing but simply an assessment.  According to my son who is studying in Preparatory, there are several questions, e.g. it has 4 pictures showing different things and ask you to choose which one is starting with letter 'c' or ending with letter 'f', etc.
