Yes ah, though they only have around 30 mins or 45 mins for Cantonese..I cant remember....but I compare the Chinese textbook with my fr's son who studied in local kindergarten, they are the same publisher, so I think their Chinese level are similar..but I heard the graduates are always go to the 直資小學
I really like the arrangment n curriculum in Nan Fung Branch. They have Native English Teacher n Chinese Teacher in the classroom as the class teachers. They also have their own Mandarin book which is the same theme n content with Chinese (Cantonese) book with 拼音, so the children can learn Mandarin more easlier... My daughter can read out the whole book word by word , it make me suprise...The school hours are almost 4 hours a day, they have 2/3 is English, 1/3 is Cantonese n 1/3 is Mandarin. So I think it is suitable for both international n 直資 primary school!
I can only tell you the situation in Long Beach since I don't know the others!
There will be 1 native English teacher & 1 PTH teacher for each class + 1 chinese assistant! They told me that they would have 2-3 days for English and 2-3 days for PTH each week. All classess are conducted in either English or PTH. They won't mix it in one day!
There is homework each day but it's quite simple like colouring, alphabet, mathematics, songs etc. and then all homeworks would be distributed to parents on Fri for revision and returned to school on coming Mon.
So far, I am quite satisfied with the academic level and my kid likes alphabet & numbers very much!
