小兒今年將選中學, 請問劍英 Flyers, KET + GAPSK 証書在面試時是否有用？因聽學校的講座時, 校長說是沒有什麼用途，請問是否真的呢？

There are sample test paper of KET on the British Council web-site. You can ask you girl to try the test paper and decide if the level of the test is OK.

Agree. Even getting "A" in all school subjects, or be 1st place in a PS may not be enough. I guess to secure a place, a kid must have "A" in all school subjects, 1st place in a good school, grade "8" in at least one music instrument (preferable 2), in top 3 of one of sports in HK, be able to speak English and Putonghua at a native standard, excellent communicaiton skills, able to think critically, organise idea logically, and present fluently, etc are the bear minimum. This is my feelings from reading postings in EK.

係咪全部自行收生時,學校都認可/考慮KET/PET??

咁最遲要幾年班(幾月)考KET最好, 我指趕得及放入portfolio, 去面試

通常都先做accessment 才決定邊個level的!

上次問左個英文科老師, 她說flyer 才適合她報, 但如想報深一層, 即係你地話的ket 班, 係唔係按無準則的? 若是, 那麼程度較底的不是報flyer 麼?

劍英主要教聽講讀寫, COMPREHENSION & COMPOSITION 為主, 每課有一主旨教授平時課堂少用的生字。我囡讀咗一年多, 報讀的主要原因不是為咗張CERT, 因為是其他的英文補習效果不理想, 才會試吓適唔適合而已。張CERT係BONUS!

但如作為補習班，又未能可全面看齊，因為大多數是圍繞住考試形式來教，其他的又沒有包含在內。不過坊間的劍英班又真係貴過補習班。

讀COURSE 有合格嘅保證, 其實撇開考試這一層, 呢個COURSE 當做英文補習也不錯的。

kwongck U may download sample paper from the web-site . I think practising exam papers is pretty enough to be familiar with the exam. Then If your kid is good in English, s/he will get a good grade. 發表於 12-8-19 22:09
