KCIS Reception class

I really like KCS very much, but in long run, we really want to let them get into a famous IS, if we don't start earlier, I am afraid it is less and less chance to get in.  KCS is bigger class and 70% manderine, they are totally different approach, even they are in the same systems.  Their KCS class teacher also highly recommand KCIS to me, thus, it is really hard for me, espcially from AM to PM, and need to pay more money compare with KCS $2xx tuition fee.  If anyone can tell me more about KCIS would be really great.  Many thanks!

I saw your previous post and your daughters are currently study in KCS, so you give up the seat of KCS and accepted the offer of KCIS? May IKnow why you will choose KCIS?

Yes, they are group interview, during the interview, teacher will ask each chid as they are playing, I was so worry at that time, because everytime my kids are playging, they will ignore everyone.  But up until now, I really don't know KCIS is a good school to study or not.  I am so worry....

Just wonder if there's an application number on the receipt.  I just applied for my baby last week and received my receipt today but there's no indication of any waiting list numbers, anyone can answer?  thanks a lot!

Since quite a number of international schools are offering classes from K2 only, I suppose some KCIS reception / K1 kids will apply to these schools as well; and if they get accepted, parents will inevitably have to decide whether they think those international schools are better than KCIS.  
The majority of kids in KCIS are from local, as opposed to expat, families, so I think the problem of expat families coming and going should be less of a concern.

In the international school, you may feel nothing to learn in K1/reception.  You start to suspect is it too "hea" in the school.  I think it is one of the reason because i am the one in two years ago.  My daughter studied in traditional KG  and other international KG before.  If you want stay in KCIS, i think you need to appreciate her pros, and compromise her cons.

I suppose students in int sch are more "liquid" ? They come and go with their family ? Or switch to another int sch ?

My son is currently with KG1.  It seems that quite a number of kids are leaving school during the term.  My boy was offered a morning place next year earlier.  But we decided not to switch him to the morning class as he has already got used to the afternoon routine and friends in the class.  He will be with the whole-day school anyway starting from P1.  

So there is still a chance for ranking 200.  My friend's kid only submitted his application for KG1 last year, and he now got the chance for admission.
