PY1 start 4-5 years old. You can choose either eng or PTH for interview. But I think you better prepare kid for both eng & PTH , while as far as I know some kids got both english and PTH teacher approached during the interview.

How old of a child does sis start admitting? And what language does the interview conduct in? How should I prepare my child now? I'm overwhelmed by the HK educational system.

Me again. may I seek for your advice. As I know students ( ie primary and secondary) need to have regualr test & exam, I just wondering would the teaching method in SIS be " one way " same as " traditional local school " ? Then lack of the intractive " 2 way " learning environment ? This query extend to anther questions ....Will the teacher give encouragement to all  students just like what we expect in IS ? Or will they concentrate on a few top students like the traditional local school in the old days ( like in my generation )?  

Or if any other SIS parents is here, kindly share too. Million thanks

I like the humbleness and low profile of SIS. Don't ask me why.  This is only my impression.

佢公佈的university placement真係好好，不過當然同家長的connection都有關。

I myself give up CIS for SIS. I know I am not alone, another class-mate of my son did the same. May be we are just minority!

有朋友個仔讀到高小，轉去CIS （佢開心過中六合彩）。
佢話SIS語境吳錯，校風純樸，吳算死谷，但佢就話教d野同佢係super名小的大女比，淺好多。

In the old days, they went to the usual ones such as ESF, CIS, CDNIS, GSIS.... etc.  But I am not sure about the current situation especially after the set up of the SIS secondary school.   Perhaps other parents can share.

1. Traditional Chinese or Simpliefied Chinese?

2. By PY3, how's the chinese ability of the students in terms of read and write?

The first batch of VSA kindergarten students attended IB exam in May 2011.  One got the full mark 45 points.

Re (1).  Your understanding is correct.  But then, VSA also doesn't have any "real" track record yet on university admission, as the first batch of students who studied in VSA from kindergarten would only graduate in a few years' time.  

(2) True.  Certainly, the school is less reputable than established names like ESF, CIS.  But so long as you feel comfortable with the overall standard, it should be fine.

That why I have written some where in this forum that an SIS's P5 student's English standard (though Comp is still P4) is better than a university graduate in HK.

Some of the best schools do IBDP only: LPCWC, Sevenoaks, N London Collegiate, Abbey in Reading, just to name a few.

and ESF both have DP/FYP/MYP 3 programs. anyone could explain?

as SIS just started the secondary a few years back, there is no track record on university placement. how would it impact university placement given its new name?

I m suprised that u can write this passage at your age !  So mature in terms of language proficiency and thinking.  Probably better than some u-graduates from local schools.
