TSL畢業同學的水平

很多人經常懷疑TSL畢業生的水平,能否適應在傳統名校就讀,成績又如何呢?請看下列兩點:

1. 2008年共有七位TSL同學考進41區的LXX書院,約佔該 校當年取錄外來生的10%.

2. 其中兩位考獲全級頭五名,一位全級頭十名,成績優異(當年該校F1共有280人)ｏ根據LXX的傳統,其名字將列印於來年的學生手冊上,報名完畢.

"native"!

Kaifu, you know you have given me a very valuable information.  Start from now on, I will check the University admission rate for each of my target secondary schools so that I can more understand about the school acutal standard.  Thanks again kaifu!!!

We cannot use the mentality of choosing primary schools when choosing secondary schools.  Parents always want to pick a primary school with >90% admission to band 1 secondary schools.  However, I doubt if there are any secondary schools with such a high rate of university admission.  In fact, only around 20% of all HK students every year are admitted to local universities.  I think they need to be at least among the top 10% in order to get into HKU, CUHK, or HKUST.  So the universty admission rate for PLK NPL is about the average rate for HK students (maybe a little below average).  Nevertheless, no matter which secondary schools our children study after P6, they need to at least strive for the top 10% in order to have a chance of getting into a prestigious university locally.

上星期參觀了顏保玲, 感覺上學生與老師的英文口語水平似乎很一般.  中一, 中二中文用pth, 中三則改為 cantonese. 升U率每年只有20多位.大家對此校有冇認識同comment?

謝謝你!  你解釋得好詳細呀!  呀女成績唔係好嘅一群, 所以要準備定啲選校資料出年用.  就算佢唔可以入到一間banding好嘅學校, 都希望係一間校風好好嘅學校, 我都覺得一個人嘅德行係最重要.  真係唔該哂你呀!  希望你可以繼續有多啲資料分享.

我對此校的評價是:
好處:
a. 校風嚴謹,學校十分關顧學生.而且資源豐富,「拔尖補
    底」措施實在,並不是誇誇而談,老師異常勤力.
    說得難聽一些,卽使小朋友不能成材,也絕不容易學壞!!!
b. 英中,所有中文科目都是用普通話教的,教學語言上和TSL
    一致.
c. 校舍頗大,設備齊全,也有暖水泳池.
d. 往績實在,數年前也出過9A狀元,會考合格率更加是可圈
    可點!
e. 學校喜歡取錄來自英小的同學,這一點TSL畢業生頗具優
    勢. 極之適合band2/3之同學投考.

壞處:

a. 學校位置附近環境比較複習.
b. 傳統愛國學校,不是每一個家長都能喜愛的.個人認為,這
    反而是優點,不喜勿插!!!
c. 入學試箝選嚴格,共分為三個階段:
    1. 第一關,考試時分三條龍-分別考中英數三科.中英文科
        沒有筆試,衹有口試.分別要用普通話和英文同老師對
        答,而數學科則要到其電腦室考筆試.
    2. 第二關,如第一關順利通過,則會於一星期後收信,家長
        連同同學一起面見校長或副校長.如果面試安排是校
        長接見,則考生是該校十分有興趣取錄的.若然不是,成
        功與否則要看面試的表現.
    3. 第三關是考英文筆試,是學校為了確定申請人有足夠
        的英語能力而設定的.考試時間為一小時,分別要考
        listening, comprehension 和composition.
        Listening 和 comprehension 的水平介乎
        Cambridge Flyer 和 KET之間, 而composition之
        字數約為一百字.以TSL英文之水平, 絕對沒有難度!

此校收生之嚴格,是當年小兒投考所有學校之冠!
