My daughter was accepted to P.1 in 2010. We live in Olympian City. Could any parents kindly share the departure and pick-up time if we take the school bus?
It's been pushing and dragging. The origin of the problem is not solved. The starting time of the school is 7:30 which does not match the time that the school bus arrives. If the girls just go to school and sit there for half an hour with the winds up on the hill of Clear Water Bay, that will serious affect their health. Yet, the bus needs to do the second route which serve the secondary students. Ideally, a second team of school bus can then serve both group of students on time. But this will not be the best interest of the school bus company. If the time justification could be reversed to secondary students attending the early morning session, and the primary students attending the later morning session, then it will solve our problem. Afterall, health conditions should be one of the main concerns for the students, especially younger children.
Besides, the whole point of attending full day education is to let the kids finish their school work at school with most support from the school. Yet, primary students still have to do homework and studies at home after spending 9 hours (from leaving home till returning home). Such situation should be evaluated now that we have changed into full day schooling.
The problem is been going around since the bus company cannot push the school to change the policy about time, and the primary school cannot push the secondary school to change their schedule neither. PTA is in no position to change anything, except for just making suggestions. So what does it leave us parents and our poor girls? My girl leave home for 9 hours 15 minutes every day to make for school. Am I doing her any good, or is she just caught up between the situation?
