如何令仔仔看多些課外書呢?

仔仔現讀P.1, 我知道睇多d課外書對佢有益, 我都會同佢去圖書館一起看書(比佢自己搵自己想睇既書), 但我見佢好快就睇完, 我就問佢點解咁快睇完, 佢話只係看圖畫 , (我試過同佢一起看但都係咁),   唔知大家有咩方法何以令仔仔正正經經地看書呢?

school can have a lot of contribution in fostering reading habit if they have:

interesting books inside each classroom,
have reading time each day,
give out story books for students to read regularly

as you mum must agree, school's influence is much much much more than ours.

我小朋友大多睇chapter books, 因故事會較短既picture books有趣味,而且大多係一個series, 所以如果小朋友係對果個story/作者有興趣, 佢會不停追落去, 有時好多vocab都係因前文後理而知道meaning, 如果下下都要check 字典, 小朋友都會無興趣. 不過我好多時都會略略抽d生字問佢, 有d有用既phase更會drop低, 不過我覺得public library真係好少chapter books, 有d好出名既books都借唔到, so我好多時都帶亞囝去page one打書釘.

我有小小不同意見, 對初開始培育閱讀能力及習慣嘅小朋友, 無疑應先Reading short stories, 因為小朋友較容易理解及掌握，但慢慢應鼓勵小朋友讀very long story book, 因為長的故事書, 故事性較強及較易吸引小朋友追看 ...

I'm a total layman in giving advice of how to increase the reading capability, but just to share my past experience. At least not to give pressure to the kids and make him feel sick of reading.

Because I am doing this in last 2 years, and found my son's writing is worser and worser because he just read books with pictures and conversation. Now, after a lot of effort, he at least turns to read detective books (in Chinese).

For English books, I don't find any method but find a tutor to read him English books. He is better now and is willing to read some English books with me. And when he is now in P4 he sense the importance of marks and is more cooperative than before.

For reading short stories, I think it is helpful to their writing because they would learn how to organise a short passage, and how to write introduction and conclusing sentences. Am I correct?

I tried best to arouse my son's interest (when he was in P1) and made him not to think of being a suffering in reading, I digged for very simple and short story books and let him explained to me, like a teacher. He found it with satisfaction as he could understand all the contents inside. Bit by bit, cultivated as the kind of habit.

He hates reading long stories and I just let him  choose the books on his own.

同意, 而培讀必須有系統、有技巧，選擇讀物要小心及按步就班, 由4、5歲開始培讀但要孩子開始閱讀文字 - agree,

Reading is only the basic requirement. If kids like reading already, should encourage them to read all types of books. Reading short stories, eg, will help them write composition, instead of the very long story book. And while reading adult could point out the grammar example kids have learnt, or the sentence structure. Accompanying kids to read is very important, and would cost you $300 if you employ one to do it.

我囝都係一樣, 考試其間, 一樣係書不離手, 可惜唔係要溫既書呢? 離譜到可以一手擦牙, 一手揸住本書. 英文閱讀能力好強, 現在小三睇小六本reader都完全無問題, 但考試出來既英文成績又唔係好突出, 錯晒d grammar/careless mistakes, 只係comprehension/vocab就較強, 但一落筆d grammar(tense)又用錯晒.

我現在的煩惱是怎 ...
