It is revealed !!!!!  Coco is a good girl ~~~~ it was a misunderstanding caused by my nosy girl.  She was not asked to stand but was just not noticed outside the classroom after returning from the toilet.  I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.

好開心你已經問清楚Ms Suen，有時小朋友講嘅嘢真係會令到我哋好懷疑，可能個個小朋友都係啱啱讀書，做家長少不免會緊張啲，只要同學校保持溝通，我諗可以少好多不必要嘅誤會！

另外，由於星期六，我兩個小朋友都有好多課外活動，所以都比較難抽時間聚聚，真係唔好意思，不過當有機會我都會盡量出席。

I'll definitely disucss this with the Principal in a rational way. I'm not saying that the school should not punish the students. I think they SHOULD! The school is famous of discipline and well educated graduates and this is the main reason why I send Shanna to the school 'cuz it is good!

My point is - I just asked a few questions to clarify some facts, they did say I criticised them which I swear I never did - I admire the school and I always do.

BTW, I really don't quite believe in what the kids said 'cuz during the parents day, Miss Sung has raised several good points:
1. If the kid is standing outside the classroom, the teachers won't be able to spot them (the bottom part of the classroom door is not glass), it's very risky for both the teachers and the kid. - This is so true!

2. The school will not allow punishment like to get the kids to hold their ears etc. nowadays - which is so true too!

I still belive teachers HAVE TO punish kids in some ways 'cuz 3 year-olds are so hard to manage, and they DO NEED discipline so so so much!

My last point is - Shanna said things that are contradicts to each other! She told me teachers punished her everyday and hit her as well!!!! But then she claimed that both teachers love her so much and she loves them a lot too! See, how can I believe what Shanna said is true, no way!

I'm pretty happy that finally Miss Sung has clarified my confusion about the rumours that I've been through and I'm very relaxed now. So I think the 'harsh punishment' rumour is just the kids 'creative' talks, haha!

I guess it is right for your to meet the Principal at this moment as you always say your girl doesn't know much about what we/they say in Cantonese.  I do not think that they would think you 指控學校 as it is just sharing.  Kids will cry sometimes in school and I am OK with a little 'punishment' (or simply 'teaching' as somebody may think it is) as if not, how could the school teach smoothly?

Just go and discuss with the Principal.  I'm sure they would find a better way with you and your daughter.  Feel easy ~~ la ~

The school called this morning and asked for a meeting with the Principal. I suspect they are reading the content in this forum too! This is because I tried to convince the lady that we are fine with what Miss Sung explained to us but she insisted that we 指控學校!

I gone through my messages on this forum and I can't any harsh comments on the school. I tried so hard to explain to the lady who called this mroning that we never 指控學校, and the wording 指控 is not the right term to say - we're just confused 'cuz we are new to the school!

Finally, the lady said, "OK, whatever term it is, the Principal wants to meet you both to 澄清一下 - Oh my God! A little confusion which is no big deal lead to a serious consequence, I'm really worry now!

Well, if the school does enter this forum, I would like to say - I believe in what Miss Sung said now and I wanna put this to an end!

BTW, what she said exactly was "俾老師罰".  She didn't mentioned anything about holding ears.

I have doubled checked with my girl again.  She insisted that Shanna (apple table) cried........but I doubt if the punishment she meant (could be just little 話鬼 + 'tum') really = a punishment.  She did mention some weeks ago that a girl attempted to go out of the classroom.  I am sorry if this worries you too much.  I'll clarify with Miss Sung on the coming Sat.

I am sorry that we had lots of activities on Sat and may not be able to join your tea.  But I will try to make it possible later.

BTW, is that Shanna in your avatar??  I haven't got the chance to ask my girl now as she just went out with my DH for breakfast.  Will let you know later.

I've got an idea - shall we meet? Since most of the parents here are working, should we have a gathering on a Saturday? We can have tea (lunch maybe too rush for parents at work and dinner maybe too late?) or early dinner @ Festival Walk??? Dan Ryans, Queen's Cafe etc. can do!

I think it's good to know each other and share more info. and views. The kids can also meet outside school to develop their friendship. You know, they can't move around to talk to each other at school most of the time.

How's that sounds? Anyone interested?

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your info. and comfort.
Secondly, I would like to say 'nice to meet you' to Kennice's Mom, we finally met! : )
Last but not the least, I've talked to Miss Suen this morning and she said they have never punished Shanna before!!!!!!!!! She said everything's just Shanna's imagination! I really wonder should I believe or not! Especially when I read Sophie's Mom's message.

Miss Suen also mentioned that Shanna's a good girl and she never screams at class???!!! The only problem is that sometimes she does not pay attention.

Anyways, I've double checked with Shanna and this time she said 'Yes, they didn't punish me.' I wish I can install a webcam in the classroom - haha!

I've drafted a questionnaire for the teahcers on the parents day, anyone wants it? You can save it for the next meeting. However, I don't know how to use the 'PM', I think I need your email addresses if you want my document.

My girl told me just now that Shanna cried at classroom and was asked to stand out in the classroom wor.....poor girl.......Leos, you should talk to Miss Sung direct ASAP......I really don't know what else to say...........hope Shanna will overcome this soon.

我冇聽到囡囡提過有同學仔比老師罰，不過如果真係要罰到出課室兼扭耳仔就好似嚴格咗啲，比我都會唔開心，話哂佢哋都只不過係k1，好細啫！

我囡囡叫Kennice，坐係Shanna隔離，我哋應該見過面，不過我唔係日日都可以送囡囡返學，所以一有機會我都盡量同Ms Suen了解吓囡囡响學校情況，若果日後有關學校嘅消息，我都會盡量响bk同大家分享！唔好擔心！

My girl did tell me Ms Sung punished daughty 小朋友.......and she mentioned a name Sirlon (I guess a boy's name).........a few days ago this week (can't remember if it is MON/TUE)......I didn't ask if the kid need to "stand outside the classroom and hold her ears" but frankly, this is common (stand while holding ears) for our age........it is my least expectation to hear this now........

Anyway, if your kid only speaks English........do you think it is the right school for her then???  It is quite well-known that KV uses Chinese mainly........or maybe you could talk to Miss Sung/Miss Lee on this and ask for their understanding??

Hi Sheepmom, what's your girl's name?

One last request - Shanna understands only 50% of what the teachers said, so most of the time she won't be able to tell me what the teachers ask her to bring. If anyone knows (if your child tells you), would you please share with us in this forum? Normally, teachers will ask them to bring sth. anytime during the week, but most likely on Friday as well.

We dare not to drive our girl to school at this early stage of schooling and therefore she is taking school bus for the time being.
