Anyone has kid(s) attending their courses ? Are they good ? I'm considering to enroll my son into their German class, anyone has experience on this ?

I had confirmed and paid for 12 x 1:1 lessons for him in July & August. He might join the group lessons starting from September is he's able to catch up with the GSIS group after summer.

My son attended Berlitz's free demo class. It's good. He met his classmates there. As my son joined GSIS for 2 months only and had just started learning German, the teacher suggested him to take some 1:1 lessons to catch up with his classmates. Then, hopefully after summer, he would be able to join them in the group.

I think it's better for him to join the existing GSIS student group in Berlitz as their pace will be similar. GSIS offers German class 4 times a week, so it's not appropriate for non GSIS students to join the GSIS group.

He is a teacher of Int.school but i'm not sure if it is Swiss German. This is his part time job.My child started a summer course last year which was a group of 5 . However, I found that the age difference was so big (from age 7 to 17). Therefore, the ctr advise me to choose private tutor which was more suitable to my child. One hr $350.00 with prepayment for 24hrs. Of course, it's not easy to find the same age partners, this is the only choice for me to choose private tutor.

Be honest, it's very difficult to find German course for child in the market. I try to call bertlize but they were moving office and no feedback. So, no comparision with other companies.  

I live in hk island and the ctr is in Tin hau which is a convenience location. Eventhough I prepaid the tutor lessons, I still have interest in joining the group tutor. My daughter is 8 yrs old and study in IB school.

Can I have more information about your daughter's German teacher ?

Is it a he or she ?
What's his/her background ? Is he/she a full time or part time teacher ? Experience in teaching German to kids ?
Is he/she going to your home ? Weekly ? how much is the charge per lesson ?
In what sense do you find him/her good ?

I asked if the school would have summer German courses, but she said no.
I will call Berlitz to find out more.

For the Berlitz in Wanchai, can somebody call them for more infomation?
For the case of Ruby, I suggest you can contact the school, german teacher, she may give you some suggetion. or update us what your son teacher says..

If you're talking about Beaumont in Admiralty, don't even bother!  We did a trial lesson there and was so disappointed!  There was no system; lessons were not age-appropriate; one of the older kids stepped on my little one's tummy and the teacher didn't want to tell him off because the kid's parent was there.  Just an overall terrible experience.

Has anyone heard of Berlitz in Wanchai.  Their programs are known world-wide, and I've contacted them regarding their kids course, but have yet to visit their center to meet the teachers and see if their classrooms suit younger kids (4 white walls with just some chairs and a table would be a no-no!).

Let me share with you here instead of pm.

My son is 8 years old and he just joined German Swiss International School Year 3 after Easter. So, he's been learning German for about 1 month. Basically a 'virgin' German student. We live in HK Island.

I would prefer to have small group private tutoring regardless it's with HK Institute of Language or other sources. Honestly, I have no clue now about this. HK Institute of Language seems no good. I have not heard about  東山before. And tutor from languagemama ? Not sure about the quality.

What do you think ? Maybe we can try 東山or languagemama first ?

By the way, I will be meeting my son's German teacher tmr, I would ask her if she has any good idea / suggestion for this.
