若４間私小都收, 點樣選擇好呢?

幫個囡囡報咗 DGJS, GHS, APS, KTS, SFA 等私小, 一個假設性的問題: 若真係全部都收她(當然首選DGJS, 但我冇想過會咁好彩), 咁4間學校依次序應該點排名呢? 可否比意見 .其實4間都各有所長, 我自己4間都鍾意.
小女現讀 St.Catherine's. 較文靜、聽話, 但好有創意. :

I totally agree with you.  Let's take my son as an example, my son has been admitted by ICQM and we paid the deposit fee of HK$1,000.  One month later, my son was also admitted by the  GT College.  After receiving the GT offer, I immediately wrote a letter to the Principal of ICQM to withdraw from their offer hoping the reserved seat could be released to other talented child.   I understand that waiting is really very annoying.

民生口脾一般, 真光就唔係咁鍾意,我有個朋友她自己在真光畢業, 但她卻沒有送她的囡囡入讀真光. 她說真光在學術或課外活動等都係一般般.
有中學或一條龍對我來講並不是最重要, 找到間合適的才重要.

GHS interview架事,我都見有好多家長有發表意見.

我舊同事架小朋友係SFA入面讀,課程好催谷,多功課,我囡囡自問唔係可以坐定定集中精神不停做功課個種,我唔想到時難為左佢,更加難為左自己.

雖然有家長話GHS都多功課,有10幾樣  不過,佢地有中學,唔似SFA咁一定要谷好成績升中.

可否講下為何沒有打算報SFA呀?
其實我都係屬意APS, KTS or SFA. 就後先到GHS.

先講GHS, 為一吸引是有中學, 重要係band 1名校中學, 但是如你所講, GHS老師略欠愛心, 校規極嚴. 早前去GHS Interview, 家長要填問卷, 其中一條問你如何教導/協助女兒守校規. Interview當日亦見有位老師當眾責駡一位"她認為"不守規的女仔, 那老師態度似懲教署職員.相信GHS的學生是在高壓政策下,規規矩矩.真係唔想小女在如始環境下長大.規矩當然要守, 但小孩是要教導, 唔係用高壓就可以

I 'll never say my girl is smart even she is admmitted by
all school that we applied.
The reason that I write this topic is getting more comment/ informations about those schools. So that I can choose a right school to my girl without holding some seats for a long time.

I am sorry if I have misunderstood you. All along I am saying all this targeting to those parents who are already or planning to hold more than 3 places at any 1 time, I definitely will do the same as you in your example.
I have a relative, her son is very smart and got accepted by most schools, the parents held more than 6 places for their son, I asked why didn't she give up some places for others, guess what she said? She said,  I have paid the deposits and I have the right to hold the places until last minutes, it's too bad other parents didn't train up their kids for better performance at interviews...........life is like that. I guess she also likes to brag about how many offers her son got........I avoided talking to her ever since!

我有架, 囡囡都有問我: 小朋友可唔可以自己揀讀邊間小學, 我答可以, 但都要睇下間學校有無位。 不過目前佢最鐘意個間, 並非我個人的首選. 但她在她最喜歡的學校, 面試表現也最好, 說不定她最後會入到. (她在不喜歡的學校則試過哭出來, 機會自然 ).

我想你有點誤解我的意思. 我試試舉個例子:
1. 我個人原則是at any given time, I'm going to hold 1 seat only.

3. 假設到12月, 只有school A打電話俾我話有位. 因為我只有一個選擇, 我會係school A 留位.
4. 假設留位之後都無其他offer. 直至明年大抽獎完畢, school B先至打電話黎話有位, 那麼我就變成有school A 和school B兩個選擇. Based on item1, 我要作出決定。
5. 假設我比較鐘意school B, 我就會係改係school B留位, 同時通知school A我放棄學位.
6. 這個決定令我變相hold住school A的學位達8個月之久. 可能有其他人一直在苦苦等侯這個school A位.
7. I meant to be good, 但為什麼會這樣呢?
8. 我覺得啊, 是與其他人幾時release佢地手上的位有關的.
9. 我的意思是說我覺得很無奈.

我果時就係一個由十月叩門叩到七月尾既家長, 當中感受, 未試過真係唔明
我都知一個咁重要既抉擇, 有時真係好難make, 不過, 為其他無咁好彩既家長著想下啦!

No, you don't have to do that. There is always a timing difference when schools giving out offers. If you have already accepted(deposits paid) your 3rd and 4th choice schools, now you receive offer from your  1st or 2nd choice schools, of course you would accept them too but you should write or call to the 3rd and 4th choice schools, telling them you are giving up your reserved places, so that they can offer to other waitlist candidates rightaway. That what I meant, we can help others without hurting our kid's interests.

因為報名前已篩選過, 我覺得是但一間收都值得開心嘅。 但如果有超過一間收, 我會揀囡囡比較鐘意個間。我覺得set左的目標都幾清晰, 無打算同時留多過一間的位。

不過, 間間學校都成千人報名, 入哂waiting list都唔出 ...
