Renaissance Application for 2008

想問問有沒有家長曾經，或將會 "再次" 申請 renaissance 呢？
小女舊年申請 year 6 不成功，今年想再申請 year 7，但我想知這樣會不會對小女的申請有影響呢？例如，他們會不會知道我們曾經舊年申請，因而有壞印象，覺得小女不夠水準，而對今年的申請大打節扣呢？
我也有看過一些舊的 topic，想問多些 year 7 申請的情形。
有媽媽說，家長也要 interview，是真的嗎？他們問家長的，會是甚麼問題呢？因為舊年我們申請時，是不需要 interview 家長的，可能 year 6 是小學部，跟中學部的要求有不同。希望有家長可以講講，好讓我有些心理準備。
另外，又可不可以再分享下，舊年 year 7 application ，小朋友的 written test 是考些甚麼呢？小朋友的 interview 又會問甚麼呢？
我在 renaissance 正式開校前，其實都有到過 pheonix 聽講座，當時的校長很友善，但只怪當年自己猶豫不決，怕新學校搞得差。我有朋友的孩子，早幾年去了某新直資學校，直至今時今日，學校教學和行政都依然朝令夕改一塌糊塗，另外我亦有聽聞其他新直資學校的負面評價，因而令我當時對新的學校都有保留，直至舊年，因為小女實在讀得不開心，全家亦感到壓力太大，才決定要想辦法轉校。
其實小女讀的是傳統名女校，是很多人都覺是很理想的學校，而她在校內的成績一直都維持中上，做媽媽的也算是滿意。但多年來，要她維持這樣的中上成績，實在很吃力，花在校外補習/課程的時間和金錢都不少。她的生活，就只有是學校 + 功課 + 補習/課程 + 彈琴，等。看到其他 topic ，說國際學校的學生都開開心心返學，實在很羨慕。
舊年為她報考 renaissance，但名落孫山，實在有點意外。小女的女校是名校，亦是英文小學，而小女英語亦算是班中較好的一批，亦因此才敢膽粗粗，去申請國際學校。我們都當然知道，國際學校的要求和水平，跟本地名校會很不同，但真估不到小女會申請不成功，小女當時覺得很失落，覺得水準未被肯定，有很大的挫敗感。
今年我也考慮了很久，才填表再申請，因為真的怕她會再失敗。
我看過舊的 topic，看來 year 7 的申請要求，比 year 6 高很多，真的很擔心。
year 7 好像 11 月開始 interview 了，希望有媽媽可以幫幫忙，提供一下申請的 tips。

Don't worry. I do not think they would have the time and man power to really keep a record of who were there last year for interview and compare that list with this year's applicants' names. Heard that last year they received over 2000 applications in total.
Plus, why would they reject an applicant forever? Everyone can improve over time. Your daughter might not be up to what they want last year, but may be she is this year.
Now, if you are really worried, I know of a kid who failed the first year's interview (for 2006-2007 school year) but succeeded the second time (for 2007-2008) and is now with the school.

We went through Year 7 interview last year.  My son was also from a local band 1 school, and I think they did want to check seriously on the English proficiency.  They did written test with a story writing and few other things.  2nd int was only for him but I waited outside so when it's done the admission office did ask me to go in and shared with me her thoughts.  Hope this helps!

I think the school concerns mainly your daughter's proficiency of English.  Moreover, you need to re-submit the application form this year but not using the one last year.  You also need to enclose the most current school report, right?  I don't think the school will combine the applications of 2 years when evaluating your daughter.  

I can only quote a case in primary to you.  My son's classmate failed in applying Y1.  He couldn't even benefit from an elder sibling who has been in Phoenix & RC for 4 years.  Finally he got a place in Y2 the following year.
