Re: Keenmind vs Kentville vs St. Cat vs York
Congradulation for being admit to Keenmind, KV and York.
Last year my boy was also admit to KV and York, waiting (fail) from SC. He is also an active little boy. I and my husband after reading a lot of comments from BK and talk to a lot of friends, we believe for his benefit, train his disciplineship, Chinese and Math is very important for the future if he had to study in local good discipline primary, so we decide to test whether he can and we choose KV. Now, after 3 months, I believe we had make the right choice for him. He enjoy all the learning and love his teachers
However, one thing I need to point out, eventhough my boy is active, if there is interesting topic/ activities, he can 'concentrate'/ co-operate and seat for long period. For KV, they ARE very strict in sense of teaching, imagine there is only 2 teachers for abt 30 students, so, they do require your kid to seat and behave.
Eventhough the teachers will give rooms and train our kids to behave, but for your information: I had a friend, her kid was asked to stand because her boy stir up the kids run around the class. Worst, this happen in mid Sept (!!), I found difficult to accept.
My conclude so far is, if a kid can 'mold'/ able to take the way they teach/ behave, KV's disclipine + academic-wise is very good, but if you want a kid to be 'happy' and enjoy school all the way, for sure it is not, because naturally kids at age of 3 they like to explore and run, and noone like to be disclipine. I had a hard time, for abt a month, nearly want to quit, as my kid every morning cry, saying don't like the teacher or throw away school uniform...
This is my experience so far, hope to share with you and may help you to make the right choice for your kid....
