University education not only provide young people with knowledge from textbooks. It is also the time when young people would learn things that cannot be obtained from a textbook. It is the process that matters.
The acceptance of an offer from university also means your commitment to complete what you have wanted to do ------ no one point a gun at you and force to go to university. You filled the application form, paid the fees and applied!
Undergraduate education is merely a 3-4 years commitment. If you cannot even commit yourself to finish what you were supposed to finish, I would really doubt whether you are as committed as you claimed in your present job. Please do not quote Steve Jobs as an example of a person that dropped out from university and became successful. There are not many of them. Oh by the way, the bus driver is no longer a bus driver. He is now working in the office of the bus company. Without a degree or professional qualifications, he will probably really have to be stuck with being a bus driver with no other choices. That will be a totally different story from driving a bus just for fun. |
