如果想去外國讀大學, 應該考 IGCSE 都或 ILETS 好呢?

Ielts is to assess your English level and it is necessary for university entry in UK and Australia (US mostly TOEFL). IGCSE is 英國會考, but entering university needs your DSE/ IB/ GCE results , IGCSE can only be used as a reference.

If you are applying by DSE results, then they will see your DSE results. IGCSE is like HKCEE while GCE is AL, using the same logic you will apply to university using AL results but not CE, CE can be used as reference. You can search more through the internet as I had the same question one year ago.

Actually they are different, Ielts is just an English assessment but IGCSE consists of many subjects. But Ielts is needed and useful for overseas application and if u use ur DSE results then IGCSE is not a must. Beware that Math compulsory part only count less than half in UCAS, better search more info on it !
