Re: 升 中 派 位 及 教 學 語 言 諮 詢 :英 中 生 須 中 英 數 達 標
Judy,
I think each strategy has pros and cons, the worst thing of all is the random allocation in both primary and secondary stages. I support the most basic way, which is natural competition, e.g. DSS as you support. For language, I don't like too much rules to dictate the schools using which languages, as I always look for a balance in English and Chinese ideally as both languages are very important now.
I don't remember 阿蟲之理念, but I definitely object to lucky draw. I don't like the point system at all, I prefer more choices of subsidized schools instead of just one. I also believe that the schools should have discretionary rights to select students. For secondary schools, I hope that more choices can be allowed for students, now we can only choose one (in the first phase).
One-dragon policy: this sounds great, but it causes all parents to make a very important decision of school for their kids very early (since primary or even kindergarten), which is not a mature timing for me as I am not really sure if the school fits my kids when they are still so young. So for me, this limit my choice of schools when my kids growing up and I don't fully support.
基準試 is OK, teachers of course won't welcome it, but this guarantee quality and standards of teachers and schools.
Is your kids studying in primary now?
PS - I believe 阿蟲 will send his 2 kids to International School now instead of supporting his own strategy! |
