The child is too small to be assessed for reading and writing, usually at 6.5 years old when they get into Primary school.
Good that you start to aware. not too worry, and also not to underestimate.
There are challenges you need to face if confimed, whatever its light or severe. You need to get assessment and observe step by step and continue to observe the adjustment and learning needs.
Be careful in balancing your own needs and the real needs of the child. As mothers we always want the "famous/good" schools, but for the kids, the most suitable schools are the best.
Parents' attitudes and school support can best benefit the kids.
I know a friend is teaching university courses at Hong Kong with reading and writing disorder. He cannot succeed in "famous" school in HK and HKCEE, but he get through bachelor and master /PhD at overseas.
Good school environment is so important, not "famous" schools.
