I heard that you can decline the offer from the govt. after the P1 allocation and repeat K3, should be no legal problem. Then next year you cannot enter the P1 allocation again. If you cannot get a private school seat, the government will still allocate a seat for you, but there's no choice and the seat will be those left after everybody gets one, that means the seat will be the most undesirable ones.
Getting the P1 seat first is better. At least your kid can learn something more challenging and thus more equipped next year. Besides, the kid may like the P1 school and you'll find it not that bad (though may not be a brand name school). Also, you can enjoy your right to the lucky draw this year. If you don't join the lucky draw this year and then get a DSS next year, you lose the chance of lucky draw. |
