Don't always look at things from the extremes. Why don't you put your attention on the majority of kids that are cheerful? My son only cried for 3 days and that was the end of it. Most kids only cry at the point of separation. The stop crying within minutes when their parents are out of their sight.
My son who studies in the am class never cries in KM even in the first week. Have you talked to your son's class teacher? I think she may help you figure out what is actually happening.
