The Brits do think that their education system is awful even after a lot of changes. It is very funny as we say exactly the same in respect of our own system in HK and always think the Western systems are much better than ours. Honestly not many people fully understand systems of different countries and only a few are able to make a reasonable comparision.

I was a bit surprised to learn from my Brit friends that they are doing more or less the same as the parents are doing in HK, e.g. bringing kids to a number of ECA. In fact, they are really watching what we are doing here in HK as they think they are not competitive enough.

I always think a balanced approach is more important.

如果以 PISA 成績看，全世界最優秀的教育在上海，其次是南韓，星架坡，香港，芬蘭等。的確無錯。

當然不是全部，反映部份學習能力，及如何理解那些能力的相互及因果關係。

不要小看上海人，我曾經在上海Station過一年，大部分本土上海人對孩子的培養是不遺餘力的；興趣班，國家隊級教練，老外訓練英語會話等比香港更厲害。

任何地方的学校教育是大不相同. 然而只要有Jewish入读, 人家就能跑出, 是家庭教育的影响大大超于正规的学校教育的样板. 这点样板有数千年历史作证.

今天华人开始出洋, 成就能否跟Jewish比美, 要拭目以待了!

鬼老並非学校教育学唔掂, 而是家庭出了大乱, 父母离婚两次以上的很平常, 内耗无尽,责任感有限, 带孩子上各类兴趣班, 进修班, 是三分钟的热情, 那像中国人, 把孩子的学业和未来, 从Day One 就是我们的毕生兴趣和事业呢!

理想是: 西方的有效益教育+东方的严以律己
