My girl is P1 this year!!

每天功課

中文: 大約隔天會有詞語抄寫(6-8個)
        工作紙 3-5頁/ 星期
        隔周有週記
英文: 每天寫日記 - 3-4行, 簡單句子
         每天 Reading Record
         逢Friday有作句 - 8句
數學: 每天有2-3頁- TSA /習作
　　　

小朋友完成所需時間:　我囡囡大約９０mins

默書評估
默書型式: SEEN
中文默書兩周一次，８－１０個詞語
英文默書: Every Monday - 8 words

評估型式: 預先知會
有評估的科目包括:所有科目
評估每學期次數:
中文　：　完成一本書（一學期兩本）
英文　：　完成一 module（剛剛教完1st module)
               4 module/year
數學    :   完成一本書（一學期兩本)


溫習一次評估所需時間:因人而異，　我覺得上課有吸收　　　　　　　　　　　　到，基本上３０mins

我是培僑小學生的家長.

學校由G1開始教授普通話拼音, 其實你們由現在開始可以幫他們進行普通話的學習, 到升小學時孩子們更能應付自如.  但你們也不必太擔心, 他們在學校每天都有很多機會利用普通話去練習, 表達和朗誦, 他們還小, 學習一種語言不難, 到時你便會驚奇地發現他們的普通話說得很流利.

英語方面, 與普通話一樣能得到很多不同形式的運用, 表達和練習, 譬如英語話劇, 必須在相關的課堂上用英語對話, 英語週, 在課堂及課外進行閱讀, 聽, 講, 寫等等的訓練.  他們的英語程度一點也不差.

培僑的學生們大都很活潑可愛, 他們勇於表達, 不怕羞, 熱愛學習, 這都跟學校的教學方式有關, 他們每天都有機會用普通話和英語進行各種各樣的討論, 表達.

培僑是一所很好的學校, 能提供語言和學習的環境, 教學資源很豐富.  有一點很重要的是, 無論你們為孩子選擇哪一種學校, 父母的關心和配合是很必要的.

英語老師有的是外國人, 有的是在外國長大的華人, 有的是本地大學畢業的.

培僑的老師在見家長的時候都說英文或普通話, 除非家長聽不懂可以與他們說廣東話(當然需要那位老師會說廣東話才行).

培僑的學習環境可以讓學生在英語和普通話都學得很好, 當然學校能提供這樣的環境, 學生本身都得努力學習, 再加上家長的協助, 一定會有很好的成績.

我自己的小孩現在祗要看見會讀的字詞, 已能立刻寫出拼音, 並且發音準確.  自從上了小學, 日常生活中能經常用英文和普通話與我交流, 我個人來講覺得是相當滿意的.  學校採用的中文課本文字優美, 內容豐富, 對小孩的寫作水平有很大的幫助.

Can you please share whether primary students in Pui Kiu get the chance to learn a third language?  What are the language(s) that they can choose to learn?  Any extra cost for this?

thanks a lot.

After seeing your post, I feel more like the school. Because my kid has got another offer where the school also provide a very good language environment especially in english, however that school got no secondary school. The only concern to me about Pui Kiu is the english standard. I deeply believe the new principal can lead the school much more better than now.

i myself am very impressed by PK as well. My son is mixed with English and Chinese, as we speak English most of time, as a result he did not speak a word of mandarin either.

It was a little bit difficult for him to learn mandarin or for him to understand mandarin instructions but after 6 months, things started to change and now he is in P2 and I must say his mandarin is excellent with accurate pronuciation. I sometimes have to ask him for pinyin or for pronounciation.

I like PK a lot. It is truely an excellent school where kids are nurtured and recognised.

My son looks 100% gwei tsai, but in fact, he speaks mandarin with norhtern accent because of PK. I am so happy that I have made a right decision in enrolling him to this school.
