我囡囡返愉景新城Littleton. 上Pre-kindergarten, 一星期兩堂, 我地上得好開心, teacher係外國人, learning through playing. 我試過其他playgroup, 但係囡囡最鐘意呢度, 約$240一堂.

My son is attending Step Ahead Language Centre in Tsuen Wan ( in the same building of Jolly Clown). $1300 per month : 2 times a week. They have 2 English Teachers, one from Canada & one from UK. Both of them are very good and have years of experience. I have tried Littleton before. They are good but very very expensive.

I am also considering this one. But they said that I cannot go with my son. So I am worrying if he will stay at the play group or not. They said that I have to pay 3 months ahead. If my son doesn't like to go, then I will waste a lot of money. Did your baby cry when he first go there?

我個仔都讀緊step ahead language centre,讀左2個月左右,起初不停喊,第1堂喊足2個鐘,之後都有喊,而家開始比較少喊,其實有時係其他小朋友影響,小朋友也有情緒,我個仔都開始話返學返學咁,又會唱歌等,見佢都好開心

Hi Stella BB,
Their teachers are very good & price is competitive. My son is in Ms Liz's Class (6 years of experience in working in Step Ahead, and the other teacher has 4 years of experience). My son's group started from Sept and parents only allowed to go with children for the first 2 weeks. I had the same worry as you before. However,I've found he has learnt a lot, e.g. he sings the songs he learnt form the playgroup at home & he has learnt to push the chair back under the table after sitting. But to be honest until today my son is not very willing to go to the playgroup. I have talked to the staff there and they explain that he cried but there was no tear at all... Young children always prefer to be attended alone ( not with other children )because they have not learnt how to live with others and they are self centred at this age. I had tried Littleton and Brain Builder as well. Brain Builder was good but they speak Cantonese. Littleton was good as well but just too expensive.

Thanks for your information.  I didn't know that they allow the parents to go for the first 2 weeks.  Maybe the class has started already.  So they don't allow parents to go any more.  Well, paying 3 months ahead is quite a lot of money.  Other playgroups do not have such policy. So I am still thinking.

There will be a new playgroup center in Discovery Park in mid-Dec.  I will go and check it out later.  This is the one in the same building as Step Ahead.  They will move to a better and bigger env in Discover Park later.

I will to find some playgroup that speak Mandarin.  Do you have any suggestions?

What is the name of the Play Group ?? If it is Jolly Clown, you've better visit them before. It was because I visited this before I choose Step Ahead. The lady sat in the reception was nice but the English Teacher was not very good. She did not look after the children very well and she was like talking to herself!! Like a vampire!!! There is a play group running by the Discovery Park Club House. It is cheap but you've better sat in their class before you pay. They have more than 10 and sometime up to 12-15 children in the class. They have two teachers but is actually one teacher and one assistant. I can't speak Mandarin at all, therefore I could not help much on Mandarin Playgroup. Sorry about that.
