Depends on school, so that's why a lot of parents would like to find "famous schools" to keep their kids in this school envoirnment. "Famous schools" like a corporate firm, they have their system and also quite care the performance of teachers.
I actually agree with hui3328. I came from a traditional "famous" school and had been there since primary. When we got to form 5, the students who got 10 or 9 As at HKCEE were mostly those joining our school only in form 1, not the ones attending my primary school. Among the top scorers, there was I think only 1 student getting 9 As coming from my primary school.
So I agree that a "famous" school, or any school, cannot turn a low quality student into a high quality one.
