My son is now in St. Catherine's Upper 1, he will go to La Salle Primary School this Sep. He has been admitted in the first round as he got 25 points (old boy + catholic).

I'm considering whether I let my son apply 真道書院.
I know that this is a new school.  They use the new method to teach children.  Do they have secondary school? How much is the fee?
Where can I get more information about  真道書院?

Hi CD,

Actually, I have taken my kid to apply for 8 private primary schools in this year. Luckily, most of them accept my girl. In my personal view, most of the private schools in Kowloon Tong like to accept St. Catherine student. Don't worry la. However, if you also like Alliance Primary School, your kid have to show his/her interest and telent in music side. I have helped my daughter to apply for the school music festival in this year and she can obtain good result in grade 1 piano. Hope my experience can help you !

I want to know too.
When should I give the profolio to primary school?
If I apply 5 primary school, whether I need to make 5 sets of profolio to the principle.  Do they return it to me?
I'll attach my son's activities certificates in the profolio, so I'm considering if I send the original or copy to the primary school.

Hi CD & 小蜜蜂,

You can submit the profolio together with the application form to the school. Of course, if the profolio is not well-prepared, you can also give it to the interviewer during interview. However, I do think that some private schools will review and shortlist the applicants based on the profolio. Also, please don't include any original copies as the schools will not return the profolio to you. One important point is: please keep on updating the profolio during the whole primary school hunting process as your kids may obtain some more certificates in upper class.
Last....try to start the preparation in summer holiday as some direct-sub/private schools will start to distribute the application form in July. Ha ha....one more hint for you all, please try to request the headmistress - Ms. Chan to write a recommendation letter for your son/daughter in September and include it in your profolio. She is so kind and her letter can definitely help your kid.

You can write a short letter to Mrs. Chan and pass it to her through your kids class teacher. Please also include your kids school reports copy (1st & 2nd term) in lower class. Mrs. Chan will base on your kid's result to write the letter. Hope your kid can also success to find a good primary school. If you have any further question, please feel free to tell me.
