謝謝妳的資料, 看過網頁後, 若我沒有理解錯, 直資跟私校基本相同. 最大分別是:

"家長要注意，所有獲直資小學取錄的學生在接受學位後，將不能參加統一派位，申請入讀官津小學。而已獲私小取錄的學生則仍可參加統一派位。"

對嗎?

You are right.  Apart from that, private schools do not receive further subsidies from govt, but DSS do.  So fee charged by DSS can be lower.  Fee is an indication of the school resources.  If the fee of a DSS is same as a private school, the actual fee of the DSS is therefore higher than the private school, so it should have more resources for the students.

明白了, 謝謝妳. 看來 DDS 跟 Private School 在財務上的分類, 有點像 ESF 跟 PIS 的分別.

讀IS同traditional的分別唔在於英文定唔係英文，係佢地的課程fit唔fit你的孩子，其實各有各好，但唔好用語言黎決定讀邊種，萬一十年後人地興普通話，咁咪企左係度？

分享下我的case.  我一直認為學好中文比英文難好多.  國際幼稚園, 入左就預左唔可以返回本地傅統小學，中文太難追得上本地小學程度(除了各別小朋友有呢個能力). 所以我決定比個細仔入d本地的國際班幼稚園,即是用pth教本地課程中文,有外籍老師全天侯在課室教英文. 觀察下才下決定到底將來仔仔走國際還是本地學校路線.

其實讀本地的國際班幼稚園亦是個折衷辦法, 看看小朋友是否適合本地教育. 讀了大半年k2,而家睇返個仔識聽和講基本pth,同佢返大陸玩, 同人用ｐｔｈ有問有答,相當不錯. 廣東話沒有問題, 英文又keep到(在家裹的語言環境亦重要 -家姐和 菲姐姐同佢講英文).  同佢考兩間國際學校ｙｅａｒ　ｏｎｅ都收左, 仔仔不是讀名牌幼稚園, 證明國際學校不會看小朋友來自哪間幼稚園, 只要interview表現出英文能力合程度, 一樣會收.　　

但如果你決定小學會讀國際，　當然讀真正的國際幼稚園好．如果想觀察下再決定，只要幫小朋友ｋｅｅｐ　好英文，一樣可以走返升讀國際小學的路線．

多謝各位家長連日來的悉心指導和寶貴意見!

我同丈夫仔細商議後, 主要因經濟問題, 唯有放棄英基的學位. 疊埋心緒給囡囡讀聖心了. 真可惜!

多謝妳節錄下來的文章, 閱後使我安心很多. 它說得對若自己不屬於那個社群, 勉強高攀加入, 只使自己難於應付! 倒不如留在自己有能應付的環境內, 奮鬥向上!
老實說"聖心"亦是一所好好的幼稚園. 校園環境比英基好. 有很多家長都希望子女能進入這間幼稚園. 據聞今年有超過700人報考. 祇收180人. 大約 4 收 1. 囡囡非教友, 非舊生, 非學校員工的子女. 也給她考進"聖心", 想必她與"聖心"的緣也不淺. 英基的學位留給合適及有能力的家庭吧!

I am facing the same problem, but not as lucky as you.  If my choice is between ESF and Sacred Heart, it would be as difficult as your.  Anyway, you have made your choice and this should be good for your kid.

My case is ESF vs Victoria.  Much easier... ha....

Our objective is to have a happy learning for our girl.   I am not expecting her to be very bright with flying colour in the exam and go to evergreen U.  To be happy and to learn what she finds interesting then to be a good person will be enough.  

"Space" not only for your kids but for you as well.  Our traditional school is so tough to parents and children.  How come a kid of 3 have to go to the internet and to complete some projects...  how you are going to organize their "hobbies".  Our expectation and may be dream in fact are putting on their shoulder and we also put a big pressure on ours.  To maximize the efford and to keep up with others in the class, and so the relationship between kids and parents is getting worst if the kid is not going to our expectation...  

The traditional school in Hong Kong has fixed a road to us and we have to master on it or we will be regarded as fail.  I am not saying that IS is better, but at least, there is space for us letting the kid to develop with their free will + our guildence.  

I am not trying to make you hersitate your choice.  Only try to have an alternative prespective and see if there is any other would give some comment under your subject.  Tks.
