I have a friend who is struggling in choosing Maryknoll and St. Mary's for her daughter next year. Does your news reliable? As I heard some people said St. Mary's will change to DSS so I just want to get some info for my friend.

I think St. Mary's won't change to DSS but they will change to "one dragon" school.

SMCS has changed to "through-train" (one-dragon) primary school since year 2005/2006. In other words, all P.1 girls could possibly promote to SMCC 6 years later provided their academic results meet the minimun requirements and still get a seat in the school from time to time.

The Canossian Church in Hong Kong, which currently runs SMCS and SMCC, has theoretical principle to provide a free and all-round education to the kids. Hence, both SMCS & SMCC might not be converted to private primary school and DSS secondary college respectively in the near future.

I heard of opposite news: MCS may change to DSS!

No one can tell. It will be a lucky draw within 20 marks. So depends on luck at the end. My girl has been accepted by St Mary for next year P1. We've got 20 marks but I really thank god we are one of the luckies. I couldn't sleep and eat prior to 21 Nov!. But I also know from BK that some parents failed with 20 marks.
