Re: St's Paul Convent School Vs Scarated Heart Private Section
Dear Pulsar:
Sorry about the miscommunication. I am the one who attended St. Paul. I stayed there until Form 1 and immigrated to Canada, where I currently reside. The reason why I thank St. Paul so much is that there are also quite a few students who immigrated to Canada, and all of us don't need to take the ESL program (simplified English course so that students get to learn the language. This program is good, but may waste a lot of time and prevent students from entering the university)
In fact, my writing foundation is so solid that even English teachers in Canada asked me where I came from. I told them I was from St. Paul, and they said it's "world class education." I went on and did my BA in English Literature at UBC (Canada) and had no problem competing with native speakers. In fact, I will go back to HKU and be a research MPhil student in the coming September. I honestly believe that much of my achievement comes from my education at St. Paul. It not only gives me knowledge, but also a good attitude.
When I was there, I did piano, music theory, English tutor, swimming class and tennis class. My friends have many other interesting activities, too--drawing, dancing, horse riding, figure skating, to name a few.
It is commonly assumed that every student has some special skills (painting/music/dancing/debating, etc) so that they can contribute to the school activities. It may also be of the same reason that competitive among students is not that fierce and negative. We all knew that some people would be good at arts while others are good at sport.
You have any other questions? I would be glad to help you more. One advise that I would give you would be to bring your daughter to both schools and see which one she likes more. After all, everyone's learning style is different.
