As far as I know, half of the students come from USA together with their working parents in Hong Kong, So they are middle class family students on average.
For the local students, their families are well off (not necessarily "very rich") because they can afford to pay school fee (plus other expenses) around $200,000 a year. Amongst the local students (about 20% to 30% of the student body), I think half of them come from families whose parents are professionals such as medical doctor, lawyer, accountant and investment bankers. There are some "super rich" families but it should not be too many as compared with CIS.
